Used to shoot with Nikon D4o, just upgraded to D90 recently.
cheers,

Aren't the Leica lower range digicams made by Panasonic?
same here! I past my d40 to my wife with 30mm f1.4 lens to my wife n get myself a d90 last yr!
nikon d40 + sigma 30mm f1.4 hsm is auto focus... Hsm is build in motor for sigma.
I'm using Canon 400D with some lenses (50mm 1.8, 60mm marco 2.0, etc)...
Able to take RAW unlike cureent G series and i like the big size of it :thumbsup:Current Canon G series G11 has RAW files. In fact only G7 doesn't have RAW. All the G series prior to G7 (G1, G2, G3, G5, G6) have Raw and so are G9, G10, G11. Canon skipped G4 and G8 in their G series lineup.
Nex 3, nex 5 or wait for nex 7?The simple answer is that if you need one get one. However, as per Sony Nex 3 or 5, I say I would wait. One, the user interface is quirky. Two, there is less manual control/option. Although you get larger sensor (than normal compact) and interchangeable lens, but the two points above render this camera less useable. It is a good attempt on Sony to do this but I think the 2nd generation (may be Nex 7?) will be much improved.
Do u all think nikon, canon will counter to Sony nex 5?
Panasonic n Olympus to counter with improvement on the 4 3rd
scott, lets do some research where to go first
@ Danny,
is that your Chronoswiss?
Let me know if you plan to let go in the future.
if really got money... maybe get a leica x1...I wouldn't get the X1. It is too expensive for its own good - a typical Leica price tag. Buying an X1 is like buying BMW 320i: looks sporty but cannot even out run a Camry 2.4!
now i'm waiting for fuji x100
I know most people will not consider Sony when shopping for SLR camera but after playing with theirYeap! A55/A33 is a good camera ;) but i read from somewhere the camera has overheat problem especially during the video recording.. not sure will sony fix it. I just bought my nex5 back in July and i'm impress with the feature that sony put into the nex (a55/a33 has almost identical features compare to nex5/3 but the selling point for this a55 is its 10fps ;)) as well as it's support. In less then 3 months, sony has released 2 firmware upgrades to solve some problems reported for nex and the last firmware make the camera much much more user friendly if user choose to operate in "manual" mode.. good job Sony ;)
new A55 and A33 SLR at Sony center I was impressed enough to want one.
The Electronic Viewfinder(EVF) is bright easy to use. Compact and loaded with features at low price. Check them
out when you are near a showroom
Canon 40D & PAnasonic LX3.Bro ... you are really out -of-date. 50D was released in 2008. Now people are upgrading to 60D. 60D is good for beginner but more serious photographer should look at 7D, 5D MKII (which rumoured to be replaced this year) or 1D MKIV.
Should i upgrade to 50D and LX5?
Camera is like Watch. It will never end...
Camera is not like watch. It actually depreciates even more than watches. I tend to give away my digital cameras to my family members once I have upgraded mine.
The order of priority on my give-away list are: spouse-> kids-> siblings -> other relatives. So if you want to get it faster, you have to call me dad instead of bro! :Laughing_on_floor:

bro, u r the man!
When I call u bro means we r family... Next time u upgrade u know what to do lah! :Laughing_on_floor:
Just when I'm still undecided in buying a EOS 550D or S90, there are already newer models published in magazine ie. EOS 60D & S95. What a pleasant surprise ! The product life cycle of cameras are really short nowadays.
Besides, I just have a chance of trying out a new Lumix LX5 as well today. This is getting more interesting. ;D
Aren't the Leica lower range digicams made by Panasonic?
Yes, take the Pana LX3, identical with Leica Deluxe 4, with half the price!

And what the advantages Leica over Panasonic other than the prestige branding?
a 50mm prime would work great for macro shots and does not really cost much. if you are using the big C or N, there are countless third party lenses and secondhand choices. but anyway nowadays, a compact point and shoot like a S95 works really really good too
btw...anyone using full frame here? wanna ask is it's really all it's said too be compared to a APS-C cameras.

I just bought a Canon 5dmk2 (FF), the photos that i took during our 2nd Anni was using the 5Dmark2 with 24-70/2.8L....
It is very difficult to get it right for reverse macro.
Main concern is bearing the risk of dust going into the lens (as the lens opening is in front).
Then you have to get the exposure in guesstimate or manually, i.e metering, aperture, shutter speed, focus etc.
That's gshoc... Not choc!
Damn nice shots
bro, r u a pro photographer?

yeap... some photo shooting session will be good... with mwf members on their watches
agreed with chris, too much focus on models. the watches didn't have a clear face.
