Title: Now here's something you don't see everyday!
Post by: HalCyon on June 25, 2010, 01:21:09 PM: I finally decided to treat myself to a fatty strap for my Skylab. while the oem 21mm strap did serve its purpose for almost 4 years, the 43mm Skylab was always yearning for more and was always shying itself away from my 3646 & 6154 homages.

so i decided to try out my new leather. this new Tanned leather has so much character. although thick at 5mm, its still soft and pliable yet tough. im really looking forward to seeing how this leather will develop its patina in a couple of months!

i also took a step out of my usual strap end punch and gave it a long pointy tail instead. much longer tail than i usually do on my pams but i had to give this strap a bit of differentiation. keepin it ol skool i used a 26mm GPF Mod Dep Buckle with a keeper sewn in together in the same loop and another keeper loose. lastmy matched up the stitches with my favorite oatmeal waxed linen and finally went to bed at 4am....

and this morning at 6:50am im rockin this baby!

anyhow, i think it would be greater if you make the strap a bit shorter...cut off maybe by 1 or 2 cm...that one seem over "panjang" a bit....but since you do it on purpose perhaps you like it...

Post by: HalCyon on June 25, 2010, 08:06:11 PM: thanks for the kind words guys! yea the strap was intended for a long tail. with the sharper tip i had made it longer. it was initially intended for a 47mm pam but i decided to mod the lug ends to fit my ball!
