Title: Help
Post by: G.MAC on June 23, 2010, 08:29:49 PM
My Longines Legend Diver no date which is automatic is roughly +2 minutes a day. Is this some cause to be worried about? Do i have to bring it for a service or is this perfectly normal?

Maybe looks like it is magnetized, if its still under warranty just bring it in the service center.

My warranty is no longer valid. Is it costly to demagnetized a watch?

I think not that expensive. They will used a demagnetizer device... put the watch on it.... & slowly pull away the watch from the device... Just a simple procedure & no need to remove the any component from the watch.  ;)

Talking about magnetized watches, not many people are aware that your watch can easily magnetize when you clear(ing) your stuffs from your car boot (while wearing your time pc). The pair of speakers on the rear panel is a killer.

This happened to my Oris and run like crazy, when I 'accidentally' make a swipe pass the powerful magnets while clearing the luggage from the boot...
Since then, I always take off my watch while handling stuffs from the car boot.

Your're right DC. Sometimes we are not aware any stuff around us that contribute to this this problem....   :'(

These were some of the stuff that most of us using & not aware of the magnet...maybe small amount... but may contribute...

> Handphone - sometime we remove our watch & put into the pocket... & the handphone is there also.... There are magnet on the handphone's speaker which are good enough to lift a paper clip.

> Laptop - most frequent using device. Not advisable to put your watch on it... individual or the watch box. My friend having this problem after his mother's maid put his laptop on his watch box while cleaning the house.   :'(

> Like DC said before speakers... TV, radio, car

> No idea for the moment.... hahaha....  :Laughing_on_floor:

Bring it to a repair shop, i think they might help you FOC because demagnetize it's simple, just place it in a device and few button can be done..

DC I'm also bought one the anti-magnetize device from eBay. Never using it yet.  ;)  But my friend borrowed it after the incident done by his maid.
