Title: I love postman
Post by: roystock on January 06, 2014, 10:35:56 AM
Postman is like Santa, always bring joys to my doorstep.
This is what I got today, which cheers me up.
A little, different, inexpensive watch from Eone (a kickstarter project)
The watch allows time telling by touch.
It was a watch project targeting those with vision difficulties and also, watch lover like me.

Thanks guys. Sure, will bring along to the gtg.

A little more on the watch.
It is a quartz watch.
There are two balls moving along their respective track, driven by magnetic force.
The inner ball (track) shows the minute while the outer shows the hour.
The second picture below shows 4pm

A very unique watch.
Just wondering what would happen if the watch comes into contact with some powerful magnets?
Will the magnetic field screw up the mechanism?
Congratz and wear it well

Wow! Very unique watch, Rostock. Thanks for sharing.
Btw, what is the materials of the watch case? Doesn't look like stainless steel.

Interesting piece. I remember reading about this on kickstarter some time ago as well. Just curious -- any chance either of the two balls can be detached? And... moar wristshots, pls!

Reminds me of Breguets "Montre a tact" watches for blind. but those were mainly to discreetly tell the time when you put your hand into your pocket to feel your pocket watch. But blind men at that time coulnd't afford a Breguet unless they were really wealthy.
This is much more practical to touch, but to tell the time have to look here and there on the wrist to find the minute ball right?
