The iwc new aquatimer looks cool !!!
U like the new design?
-
look more impress with the internal bezel
-
I like the expedition Charles Darwin version with bronze case pretty cool.
-
I wonder why they still keeping the comic font
-
I like all the new design overall, the internal bezel for all the models set them apart from others. I think it is in the right direction in reinterpreting the original vintage aquatimer design.
Looking forward to more news and to check out the ETA/Sellita base model, Aquatimer Automatic. It's a 42mm, and almost like the little brother of the AT-2000 of the pic above.
-
Very nice looking watch and hope can be my wish list soon

-

Yeah... prices are up year by year...
Even worse when GST implement when 2015 comes... :'(
-
will give this model a skip.
What's the grip looking thing at the outer bezel while the actual rotational bezel is inside?
-
Looks like an overpriced seiko .....did IWC run out of ideas or design? Might as well get a spitfire chrono
-
sad. with gst MY will never be the same again.
say, i like the bronze case version and hopefully a 3 hands automatic version will come later in the year :)
-
its the bezel design inherited from the IWC-Porsche era?
-
copied or not, the bezel general design is pretty common. i like the design though.
-
The outer bezel is used to rotate the inner bezel.
Once you have seen it in action, most will probably give the watch a second look.
With other watches that sport an internal rotating bezel, it's mostly operated by a separated screw down crown which basically renders it useless underwater (yeah I know most who buy a diving watch will not use it for diving anyway)

This link was easier posted by sidestreaker, there is a video at the bottom.
Check it out.

The chapter ring looks a bit cheap here:

Hmmm, it is pricey but perhaps not too far-fetch. After developing the liking for the IWC Ingenieur Automatic, I somewhat look forward to the entry model for the aquatimer.

Looks a bit thick for a ETA base-movement, but I guess we'll just have wait till we see it, and feel it on the wrist. from the pictures it looks very 'blockish' and very fundamental, bordering the impression of being unrefined, which oddly I find it rather appealing. Compared to the Ingenieur, I think the AT line is very much geared towards being more of a tool watch.
-
The new Aquatimer, according to the article, is using IWC caliber 80110 (which based on Valjoux 7750) automatic movement.

i think this one would be the best

I like the dial design of the new aquatimer, but too bad they upsize the whole thing. Glad i have the older version of aquatimer. Its more like they reinterpret the porsche designed iwc for this release. :)
-
Dream watch !
-
saw the video, interesting way of turning the bezel and quick strap changing
but i'm wonder how well is the bezel turn especially when you are twisting something outside to rotate inner bezel, say if you are diving will the water goes inside? really love to see in technical spec on how does it done :shocked1:
-
No transparent case back.... very dissapoinment. I think many people prefer omega because thier transparent case back which can see the CO-axial 8500!!

this is a deep diver !
omega deep diver also no see through case back

I think normal people like us will not dive until 1000m nor 500m... In my opinion, design act very important role to meet the market requirement.

Rolex get best seller because it is Rolex, no offense. For example, you ask Malaysia uncle "rolex good or not?" and following by "Breitling good or not?" i think he will reply you what is Breitling.

Personally, I prefer it this way. In many ways, I'm a purist when it comes to a tool watch or any watch for that matter. I'd like my divers watch to have a solid caseback as how it is traditionally done.
The only new Ingenieur that appeals to me is the basic automatic model, which has a solid caseback and truly anti-magnetic.
Oh and only half the Pilot series that is truly anti-magnetic with solid caseback. They are selling rather well, FYI. Are they meeting market demand? I think so. Big Pilot is as iconic as ever.
It's true that I'm not going deep-diving or walk inside a power plant anytime soon, but it's the purist in me that demands my watches to fit those description technically, after all, that's why I'm willing to pay that much to own it.
-
Gone are the days where "you can have any color you want as long as it is black". Customers are spoilt with choices and it is not wrong to ask for what you want as a paying customer. As to whether the owner actually uses the watch as it should be it is not important now as before. You buy a watch because of its brand, its design, the color, the way it works and functions and how it is constructed. Everyone has his preference over one watch from the other.

2011 Portofino year, you take picture with a Vespa...
2012 Pilot year, there was a flight simulation...
2013 Ingenieur year, they had the F1 car simulation...
I wonder what interactive component this year... banana boat? :Laughing_on_floor:

From some angle it still feels like Seiko, maybe is just me. Still love the previous version more ;D
