Personally I like the GMT.
However, both watches are quite different. What are you looking for in a watch?

Both are great watch!
I love omega speedmaster

???
They are completely different watches!

For me, it's the Speedy Soyuz. No two piece are the same as the dial is made from meteorite.

Hi all, firstly thanks for the opinion. Ya, abt the purpose, there is not any purpose for me to purchase either one. Something like a lot ppl get deepsea watch 1000mtr or submariner 300 mtr doesn't mean they are diver or use it for diving purpose. Oh ya, differ watch, I know, you will say one is gmt, one is chrono, one is auto, one is manual...then, yet still a mechanical watch. Just like I said earlier, you get deepsea, is that u really use it for diving up to 1000 mtr? If you buy gmt, is that mean you cannot wear it when you are in local? Ya, some may think due to the watches asked in differ cat..gmt, chrono..cannot make this kind of comparison. Sorry, I didnt ask my query clear...better I make it clearer, actually both I like, but currently, financially only allow me to get one of it. So, I need to know which one is more worth wise to buy first in case in future I don't hv any extra money to buy the other one. Appreciate more opinions given best with the reason of choice made. Thanks.

No one can predict the future.
Since you already have a sub, might as well go for a speedy.

This is the only omega with meteorite dial..if u compare the price Rolex meteorite vs Omega meteorite , the omega is a lot cheaper .
Secondly, rolex gmt is too common whereas this speedy is a special LE
I will go for the speedy as I have seen and molest it before in Marina bay sands . At that time , it was way above my budget to get a daily beater so I settle with another 1863 but it's always on my wish list . Seems like there is only 2 set in Spore so I hope to own it one day... :Dancing_banana:

Both are not entirely hard watch to come by as their production numbers is high enough that it won't make sourcing for them as problem.
However if you can't decide which one to choose base on desirability then I advice to stay away for a week or 2. It might just be an impulse to buy. You'll know in a week or 2 if after staying away and you still can't stop thinking about it then.
It's sad to be the watch that doesn't gather any wrist time because the love is not there.

This omega for me is special. As skyliner said , it is meteorite dial and LE. If with production of 1975 pieces worldwide still consider a very high production, then I may think twice again ;)
What you said may true, I shall give myself a hold of breath before proceed ;)

Don't really agree with bro Godzillaz , no offense ...just my 2 cents of opinion ..being a hardcore speedmaster fan and collector ???this meteorite dial is definitely not so easy to come by. With the limited of 1975 divided into all omega turfs all over the world ...how many pcs do u think malaysia will have ? I believe at most 1-2 sets. However if bro john have a even fatter and bigger budget , u might want to get the platinum speedmaster ...u might want to try this :http://www.luxist.com/2009/04/26/omega-speedmaster-professional-moon-watch-40th-anniversary-limit/

Both are great watches, but I'd personally go for the speedy. After all, you can always get a BLNR at a later time.

Haha bro skyliner, if I got fatter and bigger budget , I go for both these watches already ;D No need so difficult to make up my mind.
I visisted the link you pasted here , it says cost abt $100,000 for that platinum speddy? wow..if with that price, my heart will go bigger also already and definitely will consider others already instead of omega/rolex ;D

Sell the sub & go for both la , since the GMT 2c is quite similar to your sub + has more functional use then the sub since you don't dive.

Nothing to do with the 'purpose' of each watch. The real purpose of each watch is to be luxury jewellery for men, regardless of what their advertising agency tells you.
They look completely different. You either like one, or the other, or both. Evidently you like both, so you need to decide which one you like the most and then buy it. Sorry, but I'm a bit confused as to the point of this thread - are you asking us which one you should like more? Or are you asking us which one we like more, and then you will like that one more because we like it?
Or maybe I am the one over-thinking this!!!

oh..am asking actually which one is more "worth" to buy now since I like both but can only go for one now. ::)
Talk about purpose, agreed with you..no purpose that is what I responded since some asked about what is my purpose ;D

OK, fair enough. That makes a bit more sense. Whatever 'worth' means, only you can really decide with two completely dissimilar purchases, IMO.
Say, for example, you really had the hots for a Speedie. Then you might ask "should I get a 321 or 1861?", because maybe you don't know that much about Speedmasters. So then maybe we could discuss things like the superior 321 movement (column wheel) versus better bracelet and finishing of later models. Water resistance. Frankensteins. Etc, etc. You could weigh up the objetcive differences between models and assess them against your personal priorities.
But a multi-coloured auto 3-hander vs a black & white manual chrono with a meteorite dial?
Should I have salad or beef for dinner tonight?
;)

Sub is my daily beater now. I prefer to wear something that more "low profile" & " casual" looks for daily.
If I go for the speedy..which I plan it for my another daily beater just concern later on since it is manual winding..so might not going to use it as my daily beater but yet I can still keep it ;)
As of rolex gmt, the blue/black bezel for me is a bit too eyes attraction, so not plan for use it as daily if I buy it.
Last and most important, I nvr plan to sell watch for watch :)

Ops,
But I only asked specifically on this speedy and this rolex gmt bro..
I know this speedy came with 1861 so don't worry, I wont ask for the comparison on 321 vs 1861

Bro john, since u got the iconic sub ...then get the iconic moonwatch..I normally rotate my rolex (sub / gmt / DJ / explorer / tudor bb and speedy ) on working days ....however I still prefer wearing my speedy even on weekends...maybe I am still a speedy fan at heart..

Bro skyliner, may I know your speedy is manual or auto?
Since there is no power reserve indicator for this speedy, may I know when I shall wind it again?
I know the spec say 48 hrs power reserve for this speedy but then can I wind it again after may be say 23 or 28 hrs use? Sorry to ask that since I never own any manual winding watch...

Bro john, all my speed masters are manual as it's the original moonwatch... I would normally wind it every morning when I wear it , that's how I bond with my speedy...to me , it's a timeless classic with bracelet or leather straps.
U can always wind it as and when u like ...just don't overdo it ...slow down your winding once it get tight...I normally give it a good 25-30 wind to keep it ticking . Remember ...the iconic moonwatch is alway manual wind..

You can wind up your Speedy anytime you want bro (not only when it is near empty). Some people prefers manual watches as they find it "therapeutic" to wind up their watches as part of their daily routine.

How much normally the AD able give on the discount? 20 %? If I able get the discount on 20% for this piece, is that consider a good deal already or I can still get a better deal in some other place?
-
Reminder: please refrain for discussion on discount rate. Please PM.

Sorry bro, can't help u on that cos Spore Ad do not give much high discount for Omega... However if you afraid that you might not keep long then I suggest that u go for the most sought after moon watch 3570.50 which is a lot cheaper , more to the original and easy to flip. Anyway the movement is same so why pay so much more ? Just my suggestion .

update...plan is meaningless since last I end up with this ;D
still not sure is good choice or not since most of the time I am wearing jean with collar t

GREAT choice!
The Speedie is a great watch but cannot compare to the RO for pure classiness. Congratulations!

That is a sweet piece. You now understand the concept of going for the grail and not a "in-the-meantime" watch
