Hello guys,
I'm eyeing to get one between these two..both are iconic brand, with automatic movement and price also quite similar. Any comments on the calibre P9000? Would like to hear opinions from you guys.
Btw i have small wrist..around 6.5 inches.
Thanks :)

6.5 inches? You just answered your own question, my friend.
Sub, Sub, and Sub.
-
See your word I think prefer the Pam.
My opinion for your small wrist take the sub.
Good luck.
-
thanks for the reply guys. I know panerai is big but the 392 is 42mm which i think should be ok on my wrist.
-
for pam go for 44mm , my personal take is that it is easier to resell it later. Have you consider PAM 104 or PAM 90 as well ? 44mm but the case wears better on small wrist. I was in the same dilemma previously between choosing a Sub or PAM , I went for the PAM. But I’ll love to own the Sub 1 day.

It sounds like your heart is leaning towards the PAM. IMO 42 mm is big for 6.5 inch wrist, but possibly not too big. Buy used so you can flip it easily if it's too big.

i like the sandwich and matte dial of the 392 ;)

I have a sub and can say 40mm sits well on a 6.5 as is my wrist. For purer DNA why not a no date? I have been known to beat myself up for not going that direction in the first sub purchased.

hi bro..yes if subC i prefer the non date model..not a fan of the cyclop ;)
-
Can't go wrong with either one, although I prefer a Sub. Since you are leaning towards PAM, go for it now! Eventually you would be getting the other as well..
-
I would go for Sub...
For PAM, I would go for simpler models like 000, 005, 111,112, 176 or maybe the latest 510.
Can handle bigger than 44mm can opt for 372 or 422.
42mm? Maybe 512, 337 or 338.
Small wrists or not, can adapt wan lah... wear awhile mah biasa loh... hehehe

On my slightly bigger than yours 6.75inch wrist.
-
bro hanz thanks for the pics..both look nice on your wrist ..the pam is 44mm?
btw what do you mean by simpler models? without second hands?
-
Pam is more macho. SubC is more sporty and classic. Btw the accuracy is awesome, not sure about Pam. Maybe other owners can comment.
-
I'd go with the Submariner without a doubt. I agree with the others that PAM, you should go for the 44mm.
-
Rolex SubC for me. Go for Rolex 1st, then you can start adding to your collection later....
I'm biased anyway cos I'm eyeing for my 1st rollie :)

"Then there are watches that only the uneducated and simpleminded believe to be luxury watches. This distinction goes to Hublot and Panerai, of course. Anyone who buys these watches is a fool, and both companies will shut their doors before I turn 40 — you can count on that. "
"Then there is the mighty Rolex. Would I put Rolex up with Patek or A Lange & Sohne? Not for a second. But, do I consider it a very important step above IWC, Zenith and even Vacheron? Most certainly. The reason is this: People care about Rolex; nobody really cares about those other brands."
" but in 20 years, your Rolex will be worth something — and everything else will be scrap metal."

True also, when i wear Rolex, people will said wow.. you have a Rolex, when i wear my Ap, nobody cares to comment. ???

the comments on the page are quite harsh ;) and yes i do understand the value of a rolex

Go for PAM.
Many times, Sub is the 'watch collection killer' as it is a watch that can do it all (dress up, casual, sports, recognition, durable, accurate, resale value).
What's the fun of watch collecting when the first watch already has it all? :Laughing_on_floor:
-
I vote for PAM too (that's what I did!), altho admittedly I am now trying to get a Sub :Laughing_on_floor:
still... no regrets, have not grown bored of the PAM at all
-
Green ceramic submariner
-
green ceramic is nice but out of reach
-
Rolex is a symbol of luxury to the mass market. When you meet people who do not know much about branded watches they will go "wow, this guy is rich".
PAM is more macho definitely, but to the average public, they won't provide that wow factor for you.
For the reason that I'm in the sales line, I think a sub would suit me better.
I am now thinking of getting GMT ;D
-
Rolex subC all the way since yr wrist is rather small. Go with yr heart when choosing a watch, not by brand...
-
Vote for pam, try 024 / 104 / 164 etc as classic case should sit your wrist well instead of 1950 case.
-
thanks for the opinions guys..probably i'll go for the rolex

Good choice! I'd go subC also.
-
For me ill go for SubC.. But Sea Dweller aso
-
I had the same dilemma years ago.... It was between subC n 351. Ended buying the subC and later added a 112 just to scratch my Pam itch. My wrist also 6.5" and while the Pam doesn't look too big on my wrist, it is a bit uncomfortable to wear as it's top heavy. While the sub happened to b the most comfortable watch I ever owned.
Finally decided to flip the Pam for a jlc. I like the Pam macho looks. And it's clean n simple dial. also if you change he straps (I have 4 sets) it will look like a diff watch. Thumbs up on that. But it just wear totally uncomfortable on my wrist. My 2 cents
Another point is that the sub goes with any attire from formal to Bermuda pants. While the Pam is limited to at most buisiness casual
-
Slowly try to get both
-
PAM is more for the modern young execs. SubC will go with all dress codes
-
I think u already knew what u want, your words says it all...go for Pam,42mm should fit your wrist well, follow your intuition
-
Ever consider the Radiomirs ? They wear smaller than the Luminors if size is a concern.
My wrist is 6.5 inch.
Here is the 45mm and 47mm. Dont look big at all.

Seems like pam is singing to u.. try 104, 164 or 024 etc. as bettarini case typically sit well on 6.5" wrist
