Title: Need help on the screwdriver size
Post by: Taga on November 23, 2013, 11:09:07 AM
Hi,

I need some help from the members here regarding the size of the screwdriver needed for the grub screw on the deployant clasp. I have been 'googling' to find the answer, but can't find the exact size. Anybody know?

Thanks.

Interesting to see this. My deployment does not have the grub screw. Do you need to remove it to remove the bars that attach to the strap? Which model is it from?

Anyway back to your question, it looks pretty small. I would suggest you remove it over a large bowl. Would not want to lose the screw.

Anyway, based on this video, the screwdriver is the one provided by Panerai.

Thank you for the reply.

I bought a strap for deployant and the deployant clasp separately. The clasp is pre-owned and according to the seller it is a Panerai OEM. So, I am not sure which model this clasp is coming from. I have Panerai screwdrivers of 1.4mm and 1.6mm which come together with my PAMs. But, even 1.4mm seems a little bit bigger than the screw slot.

Yes, I need to remove the screw to remove the bars that attach to the strap.

Thanks Tony, done that and manage to unscrew it using 1.2mm screwdriver.

BUT, after took out the small screw from the hole, I tried to slot in the 1.4mm Panerai supplied screwdriver and yes, the tip of the screwdriver can fit into the screw slot.

SO, to avoid any confusion - Panerai supplied 1.4mm screwdriver can be used to unscrew the grub screw. It just that I do it wrong at the first place. Sorry for any confusion caused.
