Title: Stowa Seatime bezel choice
Post by: toolkit21 on October 23, 2013, 10:44:30 PM
Have just placed an order for a Stowa Seatime (not Prodiver coz no display back, higher case and about RM500 more) in leather strap. Am undecided over the bezel colour to fit it with.

It should ship somewhere in January 2014!!! Well this is their business model of keeping cost low and maintaining a high German-made quality standard. Although have not seen one piece in real life, there are too many excellent reviews about this brand and this range (since the 60's).

Here's a few options;

Black bezel

Red bezel

Stainless steel bezel

Any comments will be much appreciated...

Initial choice was black, then saw the stainless steel version. Its got a industrial, solid look going for it. I think Jorg Schauer also has the similar stainless steel one.

Then the wifey interjected and suggested RED!!!

But honestly, it does look good. Some spices of colour for the brushed steel and black dials.

Black too boring for me.
SS maybe too monotone.

I vote for red. Something different.

But looking at the pics again the SS bezel comes with CF dial?

I suppose the Carbon Fibre dial can be pre-ordered. Although its not listed on their website as an option.

I must say that Germans are quite good at their customer service. Of course since their business model is an online one.
Several of my replies and request with Stowa for "some form of" customisation was very pleasant.

Some request made possible:
1) Change the buffalo black leather from cream to red stitching.
2) Change the 'seconds' hand to red

Some not possible:
1) Carbon fibre dial

And also bezel isn't red but orange. Attached is picture by Stowa confirming the final details.

.
It should look something like this, but bezel in orange. This is watchuseek's LE by Stowa few years back.

The red seems nice for everyday where, but when you suit up - the black is sheer class.

Again, for me you can't have one watch for all. Perhaps, you need to define when and what occasion would you be wearing this to...

my thoughts...

That's true about suiting up in black bezel. Unfortunately my line of work doesn't have much opportunity to suit up. That's why red/orange seems do-able for me.

Besides, nowadays even suiting up formal wear and putting on a red bezel watch adds some form of artistic style to it. Hopefully...
