Post by: ckng515 on March 31, 2009, 07:26:38 AM
This is the first 'expensive' watch i bought for myself when i was 24.
This is the watch that got me infected to watches so deeply.
This is the watch that make me wanted a Moonwatch so badly.
The Omega Speedmaster day date.

Hi CK,
You are a lucky guy. At the age of 24, I could only afford a Seiko Kinetic.  ;D
That's a very nice watch and you have taken very good care of it over the years. By the way what caliber tickes inside the watch?

thanks, tht was a gift for the hardwork of my first year at work..:)
It runs a modified version of the Valjoux 7751 movement without the moonphase.
this is a discontinued model, the current model house a COSC certified calibre, bigger size at 40mm and the moonwatch bracelet and buckle.

Hi CK,
Just found out that someone has successfully incorporated the moonphase feature back into the Speedmaster Triple Date.
Check it out here in case you are interested to attempt something similar: Omega Speedmaster Special Edition (http://www.geocities.com/mtflight/theproject/project5.htm)

I used to have this but found it a little bit too small (38mm)
sold it to a friend of mine with bigger wrist  ;D
