Title: Another Precista

I was missing this......

My MKII Stingray. Bought and sold awhile back. Always missed it's chunky presence ever since. Been on the lookout but they don't come up often on our local forums.

So, took a plunge and bought this:

A PRS 50B. What do I think? It has the same wrist presence pretty much because they both are based on similar Blancpain watches. ( The 50B is based on the Lip Blancpain Fifty Fathoms). The acrylic crystal is wonderful but I do like the the sapphire of the Stingray. The depth of the case/dial on the 50B is astounding and I think it again is pretty much due to the acrylic crystal. The distortion you get from this though can really be a determining factor as to whether you would keep the watch or release it. I really don't mind and I think it adds to the character of the watch.

Stuck it on a black 22mm Toshi strap and all in all, very pleased indeed.  :D

The MKII Stingray is always on my get list, but did not actually to readily pull the trigger. The same goes to the vantage model. Is the finishing good. How would you rate it?

Thanks for sharing

MKII watches by Bill Yao are top notch! I've had the Stingray and Blackwater before. Excellent build quality, materials and swiss movements. Bill is a very nice fellow to deal with as well.

Yes, something very vintage about acrylic crystals. It either rocks your boat or it doesn't. I like the clarity of it and the domed effect you can only get with a plastic lens. Don't mind that it scratches easily as it polishes off effortlessly. I really like sapphire as well. Tough as nuts. But I hate mineral crystal, they scratch relatively easily and that's you shafted as they don't polish out. You'll have to get a new crystal to sort out the scratches.

Yes, Toshi straps are kinda famous here. They are made by a forum member called Rich and his nick is Toshi. His straps are as good as you can get. They are really thick but he uses the softest leather you can imagine so it just gels to the wrist.

The movement in the PRS50B is a NOS A.Schild 2063 swiss movement.
