Title: MY EXPERIENCE WITH ROLEX AUTHORIZED DEALER...........
Post by: soonaikz on August 04, 2013, 09:20:58 PM
While my journey to search for my right watches, I went to couple of shop selling High End Watch.....

I like to test how good a salesman or girl do their job, their patient....... Like what I did when I search for my Volkswagen CC in Sg. Besi.....

With a simple casual outlook, short jean........... A beautiful salesgirl approach me.... blah blah blah.......

Her attitude is like lazy to entertain you....

Then I asked her a simple question... How much does it cost for a maintenance......?

Salesgirl....: When you buy such car, would you care about the maintenance price......

I XXX her up and down with give her face even she is a pretty girl........

That the car old story.........

Come back to Rolex......

Again a simple attire....

MID**LEY WATCHSHOP

Once I enter the shop, someone greed you..... and offer help........; you can feel that they value you......

I window shop for about 2 hours, test this and that most rolex series.... from Date just, President series, submariner, explorer......

They serve you well.......without giving you a weird face look..... Smile and Smile to serve you....

Ended up I don't buy anything and come up......  ;D ......... Becoz they don't have the Date just 18K Rhodium Arabic series....

However they will call me once the have the stock by next week

SUN**Y WATCHSHOP

With the same attire, I went in the shop....... No body give you a fxxxx care....

When I look see look see their watch range..... she was about at least 5 meter away from me.......

When ask for enquiry....... you can felt like you been molest by her eyes.... She scan from head to toe......

She give me a price without keen for explaining more......

I asked her is this a best price...... and her answer is "YES" that all......

You can felt that they don't keen to serve you

Well.... I just walk out of the shop..... without hesitation to know what other brand they carry.....

I felt sad for SUN**Y WATCH SHOP becoz I going to BAN this shop..... even though if their price cheaper...... becoz what I like is a person responsibility, service and it attitude toward customer...... even paying at much more higher price....

You cannot judge a client on surface..... selling a high product is not about pricing..... pricing come 2nd.... becoz price may not defer alot from one to another.... to us whom can owned the watches.... it always not about the price....

Have you seen a Uncle.... wear normal attire, not so smart.... actually is a Multimillionaire.... I seen this.....

I am sure go back to M**VALLEY if I made up my mind for purchase.......even if the price more expensive... but matter of fact they are more cheaper.......

Just Sharing........ :Dancing_banana:

Sorry Admin - Newbie.... Don't know rules....

You must have balls of steel to be daring enough to screw  :o  :o a beautiful salesgirl in a car showroom. Next week when I am in KL, please be my sifu and teach me how to do it as well..  :Laughing_on_floor:

And just because you said you can spend 2 hours browsing in Midvalley AD, I will make sure to visit that place next week as well.

BTW, I know a nice salesman from Watatime and he can give much better service. FYI, discounts at Rolex ADs are tightly controlled.

Why not you test it for yourself..... wear normal like you cannot own the watch..... go to this both shop.......

See if my justification true or not.....

Non -AD..... I am afraid of fake of Half fake or stolen good.....

Becoz Rolex rules... when you send in for service and if your watch is a stolen good.... they will take your watch and no returning,....

None of my watches were bought from an AD yet. And the last one I brought to RSC at Menara Dion for adjustment wasn't seized.

Take your time finding the watch you want at the price you would like to pay. If you plan to buy more watches in future, it helps to build a relationship with a particular dealer, after doing due research on that dealer.

Sometimes when we are in a shop selling expensive goods, it's not about what you wear that determines the service level. It's the outlook you project. From personal experience, I've even been served very well (while wearing a cheap t-shirt and jeans, wearing slippers) and tested out a few watches at the PP boutique at KLCC.

I am a person who does not care much about bad service. I just tell myself, that's the reason why they are selling and I am buying. Why bother? there are better things to do.

never been to Sunway, but i do agree on the MV shop, service is not bad
Similarly with Tag Boutiques at Gardens and KLCC, both i went in with shorts and sandals... they let you try on anything you request for, the lady in Gardens was able to explain the movement (which is still ETA and which is Sellita and why the change and stuff like that)

Ended up buying my Sea Dweller at a mom n pap Cina gold smith shop which is also an AD for Rolex.
Was given the best treatment.

not all AD and boutique you get cold treatment... very simple if they piss you off then don't buy from them.

for me i prefer grey dealers because they are the friendliest, most knowledgeable, very helpful, etc. i am not sure if i can mention them in this post. you can check them out in mwf merchant section and do your homework in the "good guys" section.

Yes, the Mid Valley one was very helpful, even gave me the Panerai book/catalogue without me asking.

I'm interested to buy a submariner and have been shopping around. Anyone has experience with "grey importers"? I always drop by the one in Publika and Giza (Kota Damansara), apart from preowned "branded"  they also sell brand new ones (but limited nos of brands though), which are being sold much cheaper than ADs.

Advice/s from sifus and everyone here are very appreciated..

In Penang, there used to be only ONE Rolex authorized dealer on the entire island (on Campbell Street) until another one open shop at Gurney Plaza several years ago.

I've had dealings with the Rolex shop at Campbell Street - this was several years ago. As a youngish 30+ looking male, apparently I don't warrant the Datok/Tan Sri treatment... AKA, the salespeople are not there to sell you a Rolex; they're just there to make sure that you don't shoplift anything. I did all the talking asking questions and the salesgirl was only good enough to tell me the prices (no discount). Just enough rudeness and snobbery to "cho khuan" but not enough to warrant a real complaint. So, not a good experience. I made sure to get my Rolex GMTIIc elsewhere (Singapore). This was before the Gurney Plaza AD opened.

I'm very friendly with the watch dealers in town and from what they tell me, business is very good at the Gurney Plaza location. Several dozen units a month IF I can believe them, which is fantastic for such high value items. I've never seriously dealt with Gurney plaza Rolex AD, so I can't comment on how the CS is but from what little contact I have ("how much is that watch? I need to special order the Submariner?" etc.) - they answered my questions politely enough.

The main thing is this - if you want good personal sales service - go to a shop that has several other competitors in the same area. I've always had good and attentive sales persons attend to me in KL, Singapore and Hong Kong; the fastest way to punish bad service is just to walk out and go to the next shop - and they know it!

Bro several dozen per month is LOW LOW LOW sales.

Pavilion in KL is looking at min 200-300 per month haha.

Ya accroding to MV.... the sales monthly about 3 Mill.....

If 30K per piece that would be 100 pcs....

If 3 Mil per months and 15% profit.... that would be 450K per months handsome gross profit....

Deduct 100K for rental and water (Garden MV)

Deduct another 100K for staff salary per months

Deduct 50K for hidden cost...

You still bring home 200K per months

A handsome 2 Million profit per year.....

Deduct 25% tax......; still bring home 1.5mil per year.....

Good Investment???? Only if the profit is 15%.... what about 20 or 25%???

Ya, I may have misheard that - instead of dozen must have been hundreds. They tell me that the shop in Gurney is doing great guns and I believe that since to general public - A Rolex is the ultimate status symbol in watches. Being one of only two ADs in Penang helps; also located in a big shopping complex frequented by a lot of tourists.

anything above 7% is considered good, as i don't think this is a high risk biz, the setup/reno might be even sponsored. margin might not be 15% perhaps.

It not easy to set up a watch shop today.... it all about who you are and who you know (network)..... is initial start up capital not cheap... a least 5 Mil to buy stock.....

I am sure go back to M**VALLEY if I made up my mind for purchase.......even if the price more expensive... but matter of fact they are more cheaper.......

I have received a similar good customer service from them as well. The last time I was there, they've provided fantastic service and answered all my questions, and allowed me to try-on almost everything. Unfortunately, they did not have a discontinued model I was looking for, and I had to settle for somewhere else. They even hand me a catalogue and magazine without question. If they were trying to create a good impression, so that I'll go back there for my next purchase, well, all I can say is that, it has certainly worked!

Actually after awhile. You wouldn't care much about their service.

From my personal experience. The better the service the lower the discount but that doesn't mean the opposite is always true. I had a fair share of bad services and bad discount as well.

I am buying the watch not the marrying the sales person. Most of them don't really know what they are selling anyway. I won't want to spend time talking more if I can.

I do realize however the need to be sure the watch we buy is not a lemon. I believe that's not the job of the sales person. That's what GTG are for.

Most shop are all too eager to unload their lemon on me  :-\

I share the same sentiments. If the price is good and the watch is okay, there is nothing much for me to talk.

Maybe it's because I do not really browse or try on watches unless I really have to. Most of the time GTGs are a great way to have a hands on feel of most watches I desire and the opportunity to share owner's view about that particular model.

So walking into any ADs just entails the question of "do you have?", "how much is it?" and "where do I sign?"

The less talk the better.... The typical sales pitch verbiage becomes tiresome after a while.

Anyway, I am just a small fry and I don't want to waste the sale's ADs opportunity to serve and sell the VietCongs and Chinese Commies diamond encrusted/frosted gold watches. They have to earn some commission after all.

Actually after awhile. You wouldn't care much about their service.

Bro several dozen per month is LOW LOW LOW sales.

Pavilion in KL is looking at min 200-300 per month haha.

I have been to the AD in Gurney Plaza when I holidayed in Pg a few yrs back. Think they just opened then. I was quite happy with the service fr them... a chap in particular who was friendly and helpful. Ended up din buy anything but left with a good impression.

I second that. Helpful, tall chap when I was asking about the new Exp2.
