Title: 116710 gmt2
Post by: Ryan on November 10, 2011, 08:25:23 PM
Hello all, wanna ask about this rolex gmt master 2. Saw 1 at the AD few days ago and has been told it's out of stock for quite some time. Is it true? Btw, does rolex give discount?

Bring cash and there may be a very slight room for negotiation

Don't know about out of stock but Rolex AD's will give about [No discussion about discount allowed - Mod] discount for non sports models. You can try to negotiate. Otherwise, there are other sources or you can buy from another country if out of stock.

Some idiot in one of the AD's quoted me 30k for the black submariner date. Must have thought I was stupid. I asked him to shove it where the sun don't shine.. :p

Those are serial numbers if you are buying pre-owned. For new ceramic GMT Master II, it will be random serial.

M and V are just serial numbers and they give a ROUGH estimate on when the case was stamped and not when the watch was assembled or sold. for the 116710, there shouldn't be any differences mechanically or physically.

Rolex ADs are actually NOT allowed to discount or sell above MSRP. but there is quite more room for discounts on non-sport models and the sports models in two-tone or solid gold. discounts for SS sport models may be harder to get.

try a grey dealer if you want a better price.
