Ennebi vs Panerai
« on: March 31, 2010, 04:53:15 PM »
Gnomon brought Ennebi to SG. was thinking of getting a PVD Nato.. so might as well drop in and check out the watch in it;s metal flesh.

ETA 2824
Bi-directional bezel with a safetly locking mechanism (like your medicine btl cap; got to press it down to turn)
titanium case
1000m depth rating
mineral glass with thick o-ring

check out their site for more details.

anyway here's how the Pam stack up against the Ennebis

This is the Sunburst Silver dial.

Slight misalignment with the lume application. You can see from the number 9 that the lumes are on the outline.

Wrist shots. it wears larger than a Pam but due to it's lightness you do not actually feel that it's bigger eventhough it's by far thicker.

The bezel marker is a semi-precious stone according to the description. On the black bezel model, it's gold plated instead.

Now you can see how it compares to a Pam.

It really dwarfs the pam in size and is very "masculine" in design.

looks cool but with the price slightly lower than a 000 for the black bezel, you got to "really" love it to wanna fork out moolah for it.

i must say the i am quite smitten by the silver dial. but again, unless i stike toto........ :-\

don;t know if you can see it but you might be able to make out the orange "O" rubber ring under the crystal on the silver dial.

the lugs are more beefier. according to the shop owner.. there;s no spacers in the case. the case is milled to the exact size to fit the ETA movement. so it;s one hell of a thick chunk of titanium.

the balck bezel is more expensive because of the titanium caseback. whereas the silver dial comes with a S/S caseback. but somehow i feel that the black bezeled model is more heavy. ???

In one glance, I thought it is Egiziano  ;D

"The Ennebi Fondale's history can be traced back to the 1980s. In 1985, Officine Panerai(Pre-Vendome) created a few prototyped professional diver and presented it to the attack divers of the Italian navy for evaluation. "

No wonder it got some Panerai's DNA on it  ;D

Thats one huge watch and looks to be very solid built.
If its really almost a price of a 000 then i agree like you said, one must really like it to fork out that much for a ETA2824.
With that height of a case i think the strap needs to be almost double the thickness to blend in more.
of the two...i prefer the silver dial version.

CK, i also feel tat the design seen like similar to one of the giant size Pam... ya, u are rite "Egiziano" is the one....personally i ll give this a pass due to my tiny wrist and at that kind of price range (slightly lower thn pam 0) i will rather go for Pams or Preown Lolek...However, thanks for sharing...

Well if you;re Pam crazy, an Ennebi and an Anonimo is worth to have since their history and heritage are kinda tied together..

think getting one pre-owned is kinda worth it if it;s half off retail.

This is the Ennebi's founder's original design for Pam in the 80's but sadly did not went into production.

you can see that he brought over some aspect into the Fondale.

atleast there's minute markers on this one  :Laughing_on_floor: NOW the italians can finally know what time is it EXACTLY

ennebi cant use the patented crown design... so the crown design is bad... so they cant make a screw in crown for the design...
and for a watch price at pam000....

then the crystal is non sapphire....
watch is light due to titanium made...
watch look big because it is bigger... 47mm for ennebi compare to 44mm pam000

i will want to hv one to try out actually... but for a std eta2824 movement watch without a brand name that can sell..... it is hard for me to decide!

did some googling and found some new pics

but kinda impressive for a case that could withstand 1000m (touted) without a screw down crown

caseback off

bezel design - what's underneath

yeah that's why..the are just a "machinist" who so happens to make watches by the side.

anyway IMHO, if they price the watches to round 1.3-1.8k euro..they would fly off the shelves better.
