Title: Sinn in Malaysia
Post by: DUF1220 on October 16, 2017, 06:24:15 AM
Good morning guys [gals?],

I am thinking of getting myself a Sinn this year and was over at KLCC, Pav and Lot 10. Unfortunately, I found none in KLCC and Pav and only a small collection [maybe 5!] at Lot 10. Feeling disappointed, I decided not to venture further before I post this up at MWF.

Is HG the only AD where Sinn is available? Are there any non-authorized dealers where I could feast my eyes...???

Any and all information is very much welcome. I've been a good lad and all I want for Christmas is a Sinn!!!

Thanks :)
Duf

A little bit challenging for Sinn here in Malaysia. You can check out the HG sister company at Gardens Mid Valley. They have some but not that many Sinns. Quite a few U series, basic pilot series and EZMs. My guess is that you tell them you wanna get a particular model, put some money down and let them order for you.

Don't think there are many secondary marketplaces to view. You can try searching the usual places in Amcorp Mall. Surprisingly I found mine in mudah but you really do need to be careful in Mudah.

good luck!

Do let me know if you come across any 556i! I know that THG carries 556a versions.

Would also be grateful if you find out what THG's order protocols are. I don't mind dropping a deposit to get the 556i.

I asked THG's FB page, but they told me to call their watch expert. Am also curious about the price of 556 on a metal bracelet. Perhaps I'll get to calling soon.

UPDATE

After months of surfing and many phone calls later, I finally traced one down. The Sinn EZM 1.1 worn but still in mint condition and came with the whole complete set together with the additional bracelet. The Nato strap was also given as a complimentary.

Congrats ! Watch is a stunner. If you're keen on any Sinn models, I can ask a friend who works in HG? I think he works there. LOL

The EZM 1.1 is a limited edition/production run of only 500 pieces. Afaik, it is sold out since early last year... Took me sometime to find one [although pre-owned] for sale. Good luck hunting...

I don't think Sinn has a dedicated service center in MY, or the region for that matter. But reckon if the Sinn watch u have in question utilizes a relatively common engine, like a SW 200,300 , 2824 or similar variant, it shouldn't be an issue to have it sent to any reputable watch service center to get it fixed.

The dial is really nice bro, good choice. Like the way it shimmers in the light. Was it difficult to track this model down, being a limited run?

The only Sinn model i have seen in real life is the U1. The submarine steel is really heavy in real life and i like the lego-esque hands.

Can the Sinn be serviced by regular watchmakers? I bought a pre-owned Sinn and it's running slow, so would like it to be looked at.

Thanks.

Shouldn't be an issue - they typically use 3rd party movements (e.g. Sellita, ETA) that are easily serviceable. What is the model u happen to have?

The SW200 movement is common enough, no worries, can service.

Not sure about discounts la really, or even if available. Its probably best to just order it online though its gonna cost just a wee bit more due to postage and import duty.

On a side note, anyone managed to land this bad boy right here? The 103 classic 12. Thicc af measuring at 17mm, LE with a production of 600 pcs and all sold out di.

Bro, I tried to order fr Sinn website. They don’t send to Malaysia. I think they want us to order from THG.

Checked eBay, watch fr Japan price abt 6k but no paper and box.

Checked Chrono24, price varies between 8-9k but comes with box n papers. Shipment+tax is abt 1k.

Do you think buying fr Japan is ok? Not sure if 356 got rep..

Hmmm just had a look on c24, cheapest 356 i saw was rm6489 no box papers, good condition. I suppose the price can't be helped la i reckon, it being a chronograph. Had a look at the TWC watch company (they're a japanese watch seller, available on c24), cheapest 356 brand new on leather is going at JPY238,300

https://www.thewatchcompany.com/sinn-instrument-chronographs-356-022-leather-cwae-blk-csw.html

I reckon ur gonna have to order from outside la looks like, if Sinn won't send here n THG won't carry it. I faced the same issue when I enquired THG about the 556i that I wanted previously. I had ordered mine from a place called Timeless in Luxembourg, but for the life of me.I can't seem to find their site nor their c24 listings anymore. Between Timeless and TWC, these 2 had decent prices on brand new german timepieces.

One good thing though, u r probably right in thinking that 356 doesn't have much reps. That particular industry is based on demand volume n the price of the gen timepiece itself. There's little enough demand for Sinn reps as it is, let alone the 356 specifically. Checking out the usual suspects, I come across a bunch of other models but not 356. YMMV, but I reckon its a safe bet.

Morning guys,

Other than The Hour Glass at MV, are there any local sellers that sell Sinn watch?
I put my name for 556i with red second hand since last year, but no news from them until now.
Cheers.

Is anyone able to share about how the tagimented vs non tagimented models age and if anything else should be a factor to consider when choosing between these?
