The only thing I notice from him is he's slow, do not dribble well, lazy to move around the park... he just stays on top and hope for some defending mistake.
If his positioning is good, we would have seen him score a few simple tap ins from close range... I think he's lacking the killer instinct...
The same instinct that made Ian Rush, Robbie Fowler and Micheal Owen lethal...
Well, this is from a laymans view watching the game...  ;D
I hope someone can spoonfeed me with visual guides...  ::)

they are playing a 4-5-1 formation ..why should he track back?

Rush, Fowler and Owen are different type of strikers... he's more of in the Aldridge mould. Do you complain that Shearer is lazy and do not dribble also?

Man Utd 8-2 Arsenal

I didn't watch the game as I predicted that United will by 4 goals but 8-2? I respect Wenger but I think his time is up at Arsenal...

New Fergie fledging in the making?
I watch the first half before going to sleep, and I was disapointed when Arsenal got in the one goal during extra time before the first half is up.
I can only comment on the first half action - Arsenal was at lost, ie there is no commanding figure to lead the team in the mould of Fabregas. They also lost a good striker in Nasri. Arsenal defending was absurd. IMHO, Wenger will need to shore up his defence first, then get a leader to man the midfield. (a commanding figure like Roy Keane or Patrick Viera or Lionel Messi or Xavi)
Apart from Walcott, I do not see any good strikers Arsenal possess as compared with MU (eg Rooney/Nani/Giggs who can be in midfield or striker, Berbatov, Chicarito)

Just my 2 cents worth of opinion.

The Frenchman was barred from the touchline, & in any form of communication with the team in that game, wasnt he?

I thought he was sitting with his team in the visitor's dugout.
He probably wished he was banned from watching the thrashing the Red Devils gave his Gunners. :Blue:
Yeah....it's time to think about a new man in charge for Arsenal.

After a (expected) disappointing start and after the thrashing, it is even more difficult for Arsenal to lure experience players in. At the end of the day again, only the young promising players are interested in Arsenal as a stepping stone training ground.

"The difference between Manchester United and Arsenal is signalled by the wingers each manager has bought." quoted from ArsenalNewsReview
Sir Alex has paid £15 million for Ashley Young, who already looks so good that Ryan Giggs might not be getting many games.
And Wenger signed Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for £12 million. AOC will be 18 on Monday but he cost only three million less than a 25-year old England winger.

Does that make sense?

yea..its either young promising players or players from mediocre teams that want to play CL football. very sad for a once powerhouse english team. how i wish some of the rumours of star player purchases were true. what with the dwindling transfer window, the expectation of a last-minute transfer of an experienced star player is very remote unless Wenger lets the money do the talking.

for his age, carrol is a good signing. The thing is the price tag can be a huge burden.  The good thing is the press is not hounding him because these are loads of stuffs to write about.....manu's kids, city's strikeforce, arsenal's troubles....even torress not scoring makes a more interesting story. Furthermore, liverpool is doing well.  hopefully all these will buy Andy some time. He still got loads to learn.

Liverpool? quite a few surprises....
Bellamy is known quality..only thing is he is more pace than guile and at this age, i wonder if he can still deliver....but i believe he is purchased as a back up or alternative....but who knows..maybe he'll be a Gary McAllister part 2 ?

Meireiles- biggest surprise...read many theories on why he left...especially handling in the transfer on the last day itself...but i think it has to do with salary and also he's not guaranteed playing time...But interesting that AVB went for him...Maybe Raul thinks since he's going to sit on bench, might as well do it with Chelsea (higher pay and also chance of CL football).  or perhaps AVB is going to revamp Chelsea's style of playing and make Raul a regular?

hm.....everytime we scored against Chelsea they bought our players..hahah!

Coates- highly rated...whether he'll turned out to be another Palletta (disappointment) or Hyppia...we shall see..

the rest---Cole, Poulsen, Ngog..expected la..

These are not typical wenger signings as he must be pressured to sign after kena hantam. I would say Wenger real signing is Alex Chamberlain, young with pace and it's the most expensive signing this season by Arsenal. 12mil for an unproven kid.

At least a heavy defeat forces him to buy some players. I was beginning to think he wont buy anymore even when fabregas left. Interesting to see how they fare in their next match.

Oh ya.

BTW, last minute "shopping" by Arsenal. My guess is that Wenger is looking for a stop-gap measure after the mauling by MU as it is not his policy to buy players after a certain age.

Both the Manchester matches + Chelsea match is "deemed" won by "heavy-weights".
In the Arsenal vs Swansea match, the Gunners is lucky to win 1-0. It could be a draw or a loss 1-2. But Arsenal midfield is slowly taking shape with Arteta as the main engine. Hope he escape injuries to show how good Gunners can be without Nasri & Fabregas.
Liverpool match? KD blamed it on poor refeering but I reserved my comment as I did not watch the match. (At least the others, if not live, also delayed and replay matches).

Cheers.
