I tend to agree on the so called flawed beauty.

I guess it is my own expectation of the new ingeniur that have narrow my mind in accepting the watch.

It's the same experience I had on the 7 days Port

I like the new size and new dial but I prefer san crownguard like urs.

Yes, I too would prefer if the crown guard is removed. More symmetrical. But of course there is also beauty in asymmetry. In the school of fine-arts, I think they call it flawed beauty. Or "wabi-sabi". Nothing is perfect, nothing is finished, nothing is new. It's like the appreciation of patina on the dial and indices, albeit in a different form.

good comparison of the previous and current Ingeneiur

Great comparison, I'm torn between the 2, both looks great! One with clear caseback(in-house movement) and the other with soft-iron casing. Sweet!

It's interesting. They did away with the guilloche interlocking "I" dial. The bracelet and clasp flows seamlessly and the release button is hidden underneath the clasp from plain view.

Although it detracted from Genta's original more "fluid" and rounded design to a more angular and industrial look, it still looks the part and looks like a German Tiger tank on the wrist.

Maybe we could start a theme photo thread. Eg. Genta's designs, Ingy, 2 hands time only watch photo threads

You can have best of both worlds. For this model 3228 comes with a transparent case back like the new Ingenieur mentioned here. :)  Model 3227 comes with a solid case back.

good comparison of the previous and current Ingeneiur

there are some more obscure and rarely seen Japan only special editions like the orange second hands and brown dial Ken Noguchi edition and also the Salmon dial Japan LE.

those are really striking combinations.

I still prefer the older editions of the Ingy like the 3227 and 3228 (not because I own one version) because the depth of the dial provides more visual "bang for the buck" as I like to put it.

Went for a look-see-feel again. Very tempted to pull the trigger, but don't quite agree with retail price...

Today on Damasko DK-10 with A35-1 in-house movt with silicium escapement. Keeps unbelievably accurate time to within less than 1 sec/day
