have my new love in for a week, but my choice straps for her has not arrived because the lady in italy is so busy making so many christmas straps. but fingers crossed, i hope to get mine early next month.

i thought i could wait to post only when the straps arrived, but i just can't resist!!!

anyway, introducing my new baby the cali dial, where have u been all my life

watch is mounted on a french ammo, doesn't really suit the cali dial, but hey, i have no other straps to wear, so i'm bearing with it for now.

Saw one the other day that has the same dial/case by some German brand, Damasko, I believe and it's pretty cheap.

Isn't the dial/case design patented?

i think the original cali dial originated from rolex/tudor.
and in the beginning panerai was working very closely with rolex (since rolex made movements and panerai was just making naval equipment for the navy).
their cooperation came out with panerai 3646 original cali.

the one i have is a PAM249, a remake of the original.
i dunno about patent but i doubt that would stop makers from making something similar.

anyway, you have to see the cali dial in person, the photos just don't do any justice (maybe i'm just a lousy photographer).
