Or this watch. Bought in 1960s and have been worn since that day until I got it about 2 years ago. The watch has been out to sea (yes it is not a divers watch), up on trees, down man-holes, been in the river, crashed while on a motorbike, slept with, basically everywhere the owner has been. It has had a rebuild by RSC in the early 80s, have gone through 3 bracelets (I have all 3). Now in semi retirement.

How did you get into manhole i wonder????

mnazri.tan,

Was not me who went down a manhole, but the original owner. As for me I did go down a manhole when I was younger and was doing audit with Arthur Andersen.  :)

Ah ok I thought you did all that stuff with the watch   ;D

Seems like repairs, parts changes and rebuilds are needed. Now I know why.

These I did. My first Panerai, PAM00003, bought it in 1999. Used it daily while working on F50s, B737s, B727s and B777s. Been through all types of chemicals like aviation fuel (big name for kerosene), hydraulic fluids, soap, water and even coke (we use it to clean aircraft windows). Been on test flights, engine runs, vibration checks, rain and hot sun. Have gone through a number of original (back than no independent straps) and independent straps.

However in 2005, the watch was replaced and on rotation with the PAM00111. It also went through the same thing until I retired a couple of years ago.

Nowadays I sit at home and blog. The only 'abuse' the watches I have get is the daily gym workout, occasional swim and enjoying the 4 seasons.

Ah the Seiko Brightz Phoenix Reference SAGK003J. Cool, love the 8R28 movement with the column wheel and vertical clutch. More so the tri-compax layout. Congrats and wear it with good health.
