Steinhart Nav. B-Uhr LSE (changed)
« on: September 16, 2010, 03:59:10 PM »
This is my 3rd German watch this year, I saw the review months ago but didn't act on the purchase as I was deciding on these few german pieces. Finally, I gave in and could resist anymore and after a few clicks and a days later this was today's highlight for me. :Jumping:

The watch came in a very nice black lacquered wooden box  which was "Made in China" (sticker below),  :-[, what else is not "Made in China" these days?

From the few numbers they are left I chose this.

The watch feels very solid and I am very pleased with the build of it at first impression. The strap feels soft and very comfortable. I comes with 2 straps black buffalo leather with butterfly claps and a pilot chestnut vintage brown with a pin buckle.

The case back is a see through sapphire, which the Unitas 6497 is inside.

The wrist shot, which i think my wrist a little small to pull off a 47mm pilot watch. I love the sliver sandwich dial which is very captivating to me.

Lume pic is a borrowed pic form the internet. I don't have a proper camera to take a lume picture now. Surprising the superluminova black looks good charged up in daylight (kinda like a dark green shade) but seems the lume won't last a long time. (I think) and I also guess I won't be able to see the lume even during night driving... :-\

Now, a slight bit of disappointment with the butterfly claps strap. It's too big for me...  :'( :-[ :P ???, Who or where could I find to get a few more holes punched into the strap (if it is possible)... arggggg!! I can't wear the watch with the black strap because it is too loose for my skinny wrist...   :-[. Really appreciate if someone could help. Sad to say, it would have been great to be able to fit.

Finally, I would welcome feedback from any MWF members on their views on Steinhart watches and your experiences with it after some time. As this is my day one experiences. German watches 2010, is there a 4th German on the way? German Car perhaps (in my dreams...)

Pics taken with E72.

Last the specs from the watch maker.

Not many german watch produce movement!
If fitted with Lange, go or even nomos... I can't imagine how much this watch will cost

Nice watch! At 47mm, it is too big for me.

I too have a small wrist. So I will ask for additional holes to be punch into the strap before shipping out.

Which is exactly what I did for my Steinhart:

No problems with it so far. And Steinhart makes damn nice straps. I absolutely love the strap on my Steinhart.

Btw, what are your other 2 germans?

HusH,
I share the same about the straps also, however I didn't ask for the extra holes to be punched  :'(  :HammerHead:, could someone help me on this? The other 2 german are Defakto Nachtschicht PVD, Sinn U1 SDR and this Steinhart Nav. B-Uhr LSE.  :Dancing_banana:  now I need a german car, german beer, and some german p**k knuckle.   :police:

Beautifully elegant. I know that there are some who like their watches to have complications but there's a sheer elegance to a clean minimalist face.  Enjoy the watch

yk ;D

Haha i wouldnt call a 47mm pilot watch elegant in any sense.
I love the dial color, not very common.

 :-\ ???
So this should be German or Swiss? or so much more of Swiss Made German? Can't decide

ck77 I think you are right on this, even though as per another thread

"to achieve Swiss made, it must be assembled by Swiss trained watchmaker in Swiss and 50% of the value of the part of the watch must be Swiss made as well, so u need likely the Swiss movement to be Swiss made!"

even if the watch is shipped and assembled from Germany. Thats why it "Swiss Made" not "Made in Germany" engraved/printed on the case/dial.  :Startled:

eeee... "consider" swiss made, since the words "Swiss Made" signed 5 times (showing on your photos), the box, the dial, the tag, the caseback and the movement  ;D

Or Swiss made with German DNS? hahaha..whatever, as long as you like the watch

Steinhart watches was made in Jura, Switzerland
same factory that made the debaufre, Robert, revue thommen...

This pilot design is from german n steinhart boss is from german. Their office is in germany as well

so this is like iwc big pilot! The brand is in Swiss but the Swiss ppl in that region speak german language n iwc produce the pilot watch for german army

So german or Swiss not really important actually! If china can make me same design same quality, I'll buy it!

That's a great looking aviator watch.  Congrats.

3rd German timepiece in less than a year, you're a true fan of Teutonic Horology.
