Well, you've got the Seamasters already. Maybe time to look at the Speedmaster, though I'd think the PO Seamaster is also one very nice watch.

Hahahahaha... I am trying to move away from Omega, but seems to be gyrating towards it.... I want a tri-compax chrono and the moon-watch, ref 3750 fits the bill. Been offered a PAM00072 as well. Still out on which one to get. The price difference is also huge.

Thinking of getting one back, looks good and the only thing that it lacks is the glass. i used to wear it to whatever i did and it's prone to golf swings, manual winding which is it's greatest strength to me.

If you're concerned with the Hesalite crystal, go the Sapphire Sandwich route. As for the golf swing, I doubt any mechanical watch won't be affected - not too sure about Tiger Woods' Link though.

Actually i thought this Moon Watch should be able to withstand golf, which is why i wore it all the time. Nothing happened. In fact it was my daily watch and since it can go to the moon with the high g-force and stuff i though it would make a good sports watch. Having said that i do use the Tiger Woods Tag nowadays for the game, very comfy and light. BTW TW performed quite well at the Masters last weekend.

Haselite is not as susceptible to shatter as a sapphire. Some might even argue that it's shatter-proof. That's why it's chosen as the watch by NASA because of the concern that a sapphire might shatter during a space endeavour. It's easily scratchable however, though none  (unless too major) that can't be rectified by a polywatch.

You have to appreciate the speedmaster professional. That's the signature timepiece of omega. 50 years of design. It's the equivalent to Rolex Submariner.

I guess one fact that some people do not readily realize is the marked difference, relatively, between the price of such an iconic piece in the Omega line up, and to the ones under Rolex. This is one area in which I take my hat off to Omega

If you notice Omega slowly increasing price twice a year. Recently they increase 10% to the speedmaster professional as to reflect that it's not an entry model. If not mistaken before the price increase Planet Ocean is more expensive than the speedy

Price increase is very much expected, as I never expected Omega (being the second biggest after Rolex) to just make their prices idle. But what is more crucial is the price difference between the two. I'm not blaming Rolex for pricing its model as it sees fit, as it still sells all units it produces. What I want to emphasise is Omega's chosen price points, which is admirable to a certain extent. Granted their prices will still go up as time goes by, but I doubt it will be as high, relatively, to Rolex's.

If its water resistance was better it could easily be my one and only watch. Pick 10 different straps and you are good to go for any occasion.

But at the same time this hobby of ours will be less fun...

Is it the one called Tintin from the comics book "Tintin et Milou"? The pattern is the one from the rocket going to the Moon.

Classic. You just couldn’t stop starring at this watch. Saw this watch on the wrist of the salesman while hunting a Daytona.

This watch has it all - fantastic looks, a great story behind it, good movement, established brand and can be bought at a very reasonable price if you're willing to go pre-owned.

I'll never sell mine. For me, this is THE WATCH that started me on this crazy road of watch collecting. I love it. When I'm no longer around, one of my kids will own it. And hopefully, her kids after her etc..

Tintin is a sought after watch. It is quite hard to find it in the 2nd hand market now. Well, I like Speedmaster and of course the price for the vintage speedmaster (2998, ed white, buzz aldrin, etc) keep rising every year due to the limited units available in the market.

lovely and probably the most iconic piece around.
How do u handle the hesalite tho, is it really very prone to scratches?

saw a lot are deparmental stores in Japan for tintin. Was around 12-13k. It does look nicer in real life.

Loving my manual winding speedy moon. something about winding my watch keeps me happy.
