Usually new launched Omega models will not be given any discounts so soon lol

I think the boutiques don’t discount. They just give freebies or extended warranties. ADs might give discounts even for new watches.

My experience with boutiques is that there are no discounts. For AD, usually there are discounts for the less hot models. For the hotter ones, discounts are generally around the 10% range.

Maybe few years down the road AD will give 30%+,n new I think it’s not possible..perhaps
nego with them in group buyings? I am not sure ..

Can't wait too long though.. 5 years of annual 5% price increase means you'll be buying it at today's RRP..

The movement is a huge improvement over the previous model. That coupled with the new bracelet and cosmetic changes and I think it’s worth the extra price

At 30% discount, the price would be almost comparable to previous model prices, which seems alright. But I dunno la, still doesn't quite appeal to me.

after actually studying the pictures, you can see the differences..

1. seconds track now has less divisions to account for the 21,600vph movement, cleaner dial 
2. sub dial depressions a bit different ie. look more like pie pan 
3. middle of hands in sub dial aren't painted white 
4. Speedmaster word looks bigger  and PROFESSIONAL looks wider too 
5. bracelet looks finer, more like jubilee 
6. clasp is changed.. undecided on this.

All depends on the buyer. I believe the 1863 could be bought new from AD at RM16k in 2018 and the 1861 was going for about 2k less then.

I would trade up a 1863 for 3861 just because the new movement hacks.

I got quoted 16830 for the 1861 cal variant at the boutique around mid of last year. With the price hike included maybe its a decent buy?

Go the brand new one instead! It’s a huge upgrade and well worth the extra money
