Cartier Santos
« on: July 20, 2020, 11:25:34 AM »
Hi , want to ask about Cartier Santos , been liking it for a long time but not sure to buy a new or used ( classic white dial ).
Currently having a Hublot classic fusion not sure to keep it , buy extra Santos , or letting go only buy Santos .
Please give me some suggestion and direction .
Good Day everyone.

Not a fan of Cartier although the brand does have a very royal history.

The pieces take a bigger hit on resale so buy new only if you are going to keep it as an heirloom.

I think the new santos with it's smart bracelet system is really cool. Been intrigued by it for a while.. classy classic design. Would definitely get one if able. Steel & full gold are both awesome in my opinion. Have fun with it.

Are you still in love with the classic fusion?
There are two type of people, "traded in, top up and buy another watch" and "save up and buy another watch".
I being the first kind of person, sometime I feel regretted and miss those watches I've sold to fund my next watches. I could've been patience and save up for next purchase.

For the watch, Santos win hands down, horological history wise, "first men's wristwatch" yo.

I am more to the second type , but Hublot seems don’t have much value in second hand market ...if rolex then I will keep...

Hublot is a nice watch but it’s another brand that takes a big hit on resale. Unless you no longer like it, just save for the Santos which is another poor resale model.

No point selling it too if resale value is bad. Buy extra watch then. Santos is a cool watch.

Pre-owned piece price ranging from RM 13k to RM16k. Gold bezel one is about RM 20k.

Hi, sorry for reviving an old thread. Does this pre-owned price range apply to the Santos 100? How about the new (2020 model I think) ref. WSSA0029? THe one where the bezel flows to the bracelet? I have not been able to find a used one for anywhere under 25K
