Rolex new oyster perpetual
« on: September 04, 2020, 10:38:19 AM »
What do you guys think of that?

Some of the colors really look good imo.

Not a fan of the 41mm.

Also being excited over the color of a new Rolex watch is seriously a sad thing to me. Not saying the OP, just in general.
I post pictures of watches in nature:

Well, Rolex did release colored dials for their day-date in the 70s and named them Stella dials.

Strange coming from ROLEX but then it took them so long when other brands have moved to color so much sooner. The younger generation have more spending power and the OP series looks targeted to them. Fluted bezels are too old for that generation so only the smooth shiny bezel is given.

The turqoise is sexy as hell! The OP series is becoming more and more like Iphone SE.

Not my cup of tea. 41mm and those flamboyant colors is not easy on the eye. Perhaps more suited to ang moh.  :Praying:

The old blue versin of the OP36 used to come with the explorer dial (3,6,9). Sad to see this model being discontinued

The candy pink on 36mm is quite nice for a lady watch. Maybe can think of buying for wife.
Any idea if it's available at AD or same sh*t like other sports model Rolex where it's impossible to get?

Should be much easier to acquire given that it isn't a 'hot' item as of yet.

I hope you are right. I check them on Chrono24 and they're priced at around 10k USD which is almost double the retail price, which is crazy.

You think?? Some 31mm Datejust 2020 release models already have a slight premium above RRP...

Oh, they are most definitely hot already.
I think going for double RRP?
madness.

If you don't have a nice AD to ask, then I guess you're right. I think many have already moved off to other brands.

Anything from Rolex, be prepared to pay more than retail prices for stainless steel models. Unless you are a VIP or have connection.. :P

Such a shame especially for genuine buyers.

Building a relationship at the AD also is a risk. What is the turnover like for an AD? To have build up a relationship only to have the salesperson move on to another shop or career would be such a pain.

If you buy from AD, your purchase is recorded in the system under your name. Even if the salesperson change, your record stays in the system. They can always check in the system for your history.

Regardless how much you buy from grey market, you will still pay market price or if you're a really special customer maybe you get a little discount but still above RRP.
