Any Zenith Lovers?
« on: August 25, 2020, 05:37:10 PM »
Its hard getting to know a zenith watch lover... I like it but not many appreciate the brand.

The recent Zenith Defy 21 ‘Carl Cox is beautiful...

Zenith lover here... Been one for a long time. Although i am less active in the watch collecting scene at the moment.
The Defy 21 Carl Cox is indeed beautiful. But i would just go for the vanilla skeletonized version. Just my 2 sen... Hehehe

I like Zenith and I like Carl Cox. Saw Carl live in the good old days of KL Superclubs haha. One day I'll get the El Primero Chrono :)

This means the other watches in my collection are oversized...

It visually looks small because the glass is small. The case size is big actually.

The polished index and hands are lovely when they catch the light

That is a beautiful watch. The only Zenith I had the opportunity of handling is a bronze pilot from this brand. It looked too simple for me so I wasn't sold on this brand yet. That chrono is a different story altogether.

Seems there's a lot of love for the A384 specifically  :D

Had the opportunity to test it out some time ago and kinda liked it, dial face is a tad small but the tonneau case makes up for it la I reckon. Seen here on my 7in wrist. I reckon about the only gripe I have is that, knowing me and my clumsy hands, all that extra metal is gonna magnet a lot of scratches haha...would also like it on ss bracelet, which I can happily see myself confusing it with my Tissot quickster in early morning rush to work.

I'm trying to get used to the smaller sized watches in order to move to a Calatrava some day...

I've always admired the El Primeros but never found a model that really clicked. I was dead set on getting a Defy Classic Skeleton last year but was somewhat underwhelmed when I tried it on the wrist.

BUT I tried out the A384 revival recently at SWG and I was immediately smitten by it. While a bit smaller than what I'm used to, that thing just oozed charm and was such a breath of fresh air. Ordered one with the ladder bracelet on the spot but they have to bring it in from Switzerland (approx 6 weeks wait). Hopefully it'll reach here in time for CNY! The A384 is a winner :D

The A384 looks a lot better on a leather strap if you ask me. Much better vintage look

I'd probably order the leather strap too at sometime. I'd want to experience the ladder bracelet first though ;)

Man, this Shadow variant is something else. Got me wondering just how durable this microblasted titanium actually is, whether it would scratch easily and show it. Something about the darker styled color theme is appealing.

I think it's genuinely cool and a pretty modern take on the A384, but personally it's overly sporty and I feel that the microblast finish comes at the cost of really sharp lines and bevels on the SS version. But I'd imagine it would make for a very compelling everyday casual sport watch (perhaps more so for smaller wrist guys).

Yeah, definitely more for a casual/everyday wear kinda thing. I tend to wear black band t-shirts and jeans most times anyways so it has its appeal. Though, it really is nice to have a bracelet option as well to wear with it, like the SS A384.

Don't think the Shadow Edition would have a matching Ti bracelet though, sadly. Or if you can source the JP LE Lupin the 3rd (1st edition).... that will be perfect with the SS bracelet.
