Have you had watches passed down by your family member?

Well my family have never been into watches so no Patek or Rolex handed down to me by my grandpa etc haha

This past weekend my dad just gave me his Tag (forgot which model) that he bought together with my Tag 4000 series when i went to college.

He was playing golf with this for a long time until one day the dial snapped !
Mom took it to a fren she knew and they tried to glue it back i think....looks like they didnt do a good job as the dial came off again. Fixed it again and now seems fine.

Dial is very unique and everything on it is aged, t-dial, hands even the dot on the bezel is gone.

Dad even managed to whack the bracelet off and all the pins...so now its on an el-cheapo strap, looking to strap suggestions anyone? Its 19mm....

He gave me another Omega which was my uncle's and i will post it up another time.

Nice one, but unfortunately my old man don't have any watches pass down to me.

This Omega Geneve was handed down to me. It dates from the late 1960's or early 1970's. Cost me a bomb to get it serviced about a year ago.
But you really can't put a price to an object of sentimental value.

And Omega did a damn good job at restoring it.
Mind to tell what did they do?

2 watches passed down to me recently was quartz....too bad not mechanical.
Both Tag and Omega passed to Chris and to hand to his watchmaker to see if can do some service.

That's one thing I like about Omega. They are willing to actively support their vintage pieces.... as long as you are agreeable to their price.

For this watch, in addition to the normal servicing/overhaul and polishing, I had the dial and hands changed, and they returned the original tritium dial and hands.

Do they replace ur watch's tritium hands with super luminova coated hands?

That's one thing I like about Omega. They are willing to actively support their vintage pieces.... as long as you are agreeable to their price.

In this case, yes. The hands were replaced and you can see from the pics that there's Luminova coating on it. And the original hands were returned to me.
