Congratulations!. Happy ending after 126 replies and 1400 views. Depending on how you look at it, this just closes the chapter on this purchase but starts another with possibly no end in sight.....good or bad? That warrants another thread.

Enjoy your watch and hope it brings in much business!

I know a watch chain owner with 50+ outlets wearing a Casio and his dad a Seiko5.
They don't drive Kancil of course because of safety issue.
Yes we all come from different backgrounds but I choose to work under a mentor rather than a scrooge boss.
And I believe in sharing the wealth and I do show my staff how to make money and save their earnings.
Many of them with potential, I make them my future partners, as one man can't do all.
The problem with society is there are too many rich selfish businessman who keeps all the profit for themselves.
Once you deemed yourself wearing a watch as a form of superiority, that means you are still living in the old era.
Be a boss (which I'm sure you am), that treat your staff as assets, rather than a slave.

maybe we are mostly weirdos here, aren't we ?

Chinaman style don't work for me.....; I resigned my previous job becoz of the your stated condition - selfish ex-boss;

For this forum and they way I sent my massage.... many knew I am a type of willing to share knowledge.... I don't mind to teach my staff how to make money......; I am more than happy to do so as looking for replacement of my place then I can do something else and retired at the age of 45;

I paying my staff "personnel insurance" (not company group medical); any company out there doing the same???

don't mix up? personnel and company insurance is two different thing with big different.......

Did I sound like slaving my staff???

and wearing in the from superiority doesn't meant live in old era.....; Why not ask YTL or IOI or yokogawa boss wear Bata shoes; cheatah T-shirt, deeper and maybe casio watch to work......

Is because the job requirement or nature of business work.......

Tell me would you follow a boss whom drive only kancil, wear bata shoes, suave shirt........; is there any doubt that he can lead you to better future.....????? or maybe yourself satisfied with what the boss own......

Think for yourself........

I stand to be corrected. With your budget (25k?), I reckon you can actually go for Ulysse? - since you are going for simple dial.

I might be wrong though. good luck!

Ulysse Nardin Freak...... is so Freaking Good.... but too expensive to own.............

Actually, to tell you the truth, what my boss wear or drive is not my problem.
As long as my needs are fulfilled, my compensation ample and he is fair to the employees.
Wether or not he can lead me to a better future does not show in what clothes he wear or what car he drives.
Some ppl just have different wants.

This discussion actually covers a broad spectrum of views.
Not to say your view is skewed, it's just different.

It's not wrong to judge a person by the outlook at 1st glance.
But in time, the true qualities will show irregardless.
Terrenceterrence "seriously, i think buying a watch for it's secondhand value is like getting married and thinking about divorce at the back of your mind."

Every 1 buy watches with different purpose
Every 1 wear watches with different purpose

So u clear y u wanna buy, go for it
So u like it, go for it

Last week in a meeting room
Between a tan sri and his staffs with a Malaysian most famous architect and his staffs
The tan Sri and the architect both wearing swatch battery powered plastic watch
While on their staffs' wrist - hublot king power, pam111, Rolex dj, tissot...

IOI tan Sri wearing steel dayto all the time... His younger son gshock all the time...

I do think watch is personal, the 2 tan Sri in my office
1 always with old titanium porche Iwc
Another with few p.phillipe

For us who love watches... Watches we owned can be more valuable than the car... Or even property....

Anyway, congrats the thread starter on the new purchase...
Can afford a watch, can afford a Rolex very good...

Very nice watch! The blue lume on the arabic numbers is beautiful!

BTW, the 18k gold on Rolex is not all plated. The links and bezel are solid 18k and the oyster clasp has a very thick gold plate fused to the steel.
