Careful guys. There are a lot of fakes out there, esp Omega seamaster.
Why not just take it to AD for verification?. Its dosen't cost a bomb. After all you are buying some thing between rm2-4k.
Penny wise, pound foolish.

From the positioning of HEV and serial number on lug, it should be authentic.
If got doubt, like DC says, bring it to Swatch for verification.
-
Hi,
What is HEV? Is it the little engraved omega logo at the side (smooth section) at back case?
Anyway, spoke to the seller. Agreed to meet at Swatch in Raja Chulan next week to get it authenticated. Reason I am a bit worry is it is without box and papers. Just the watch only.
Will update you guys.
Cheers
-
Helium Escape Valve.
Original the HEV placed slightly higher over 10 o'clock mark. Fake one positioned exactly at 10 o'clock.
If the seller is willing to meet you at Swatch, very unlikely the watch is fake.
Good luck
-
Just found out what HEV means. :)
I guess it should be real. Let see what Swatch says next week.
Thanks
-
The watch looks real to me ;)
But some advice buying one without warranty.
The watch might not be in good shape or it might be time to service. Unless you know the seller how he/she take care the watch. The watch might need to send back for service maybe right after you bought it and it might cost you a bit.
You might have to bundle another 1.5K for the service cost on top of the price you pay for this. Meaning, let say you pay for 2K for this watch, you might have to prepare and extra 1.5K for it. If you can get a brand new from AD close to 3.5K, my suggestion is to get a brand new one.
Just some of my experience in buying used and my opinion.

Knew I will find some good advice here.... Thanks guys
Anyway, the seller is unsure how does the actual owner use the watch. He got is from someone else who got it from someone else. So no history whatsoever.
Btw, brand new at RM3.5K? Thats not bad. Any leads where to get it? I saw a used one (Quartz) in Ampang Park some weeks back for the price you just mentioned. So really interested if new is Rm3.5k.
Cheers

Would also like to point out that there is no additional link (watch only) and it won't fit my wrist. So I will have to get from Swatch. Was told that it is about Rm80 per link. True?
-
Scott is just stating an example. Not sure how much is the extra link.
-
Hmmm..
Why not see the movement itself right?
-
gigi (this nick reminds me of my secondary school mate)
I hope to see the movement next week at Swatch but don't believe will be able to detect problem like what scott said. Swatch is not charging me so I don't think they will check for problems. Perhaps just a quick verification I think.

gigi (this nick reminds me of my secondary school mate)
I hope it brought back good memories :)
-
I use "gigi" everyone tease me in sec school because i got used to have buck tooth & i wore braces..
Eh.... Swatch group open at saturday ? What time they will open cause i want to bring my 4.5 to let em see.
-
This particular watch has stop production and nil stock with any AD. RM3.5k would not able to get you a new - old stock. All the new seamaster comes with co-axial movement and cost a bomb.
Pre-owned seamaster (old movement) takes approx.rm3-4k on list.

I agree with Scott in that you gotta always factor in the service cost for a watch over 5yrs and you dont know the history of it.
-
judging from the scratches and dings a think james bond was the 1st owner of this seamaster.
Check if the laser gun still working hehehehe kidding :HammerHead:
-
Gigi,
No lah... I am not going to Swatch on Sat. I am going tomorrow lunchtime. Will meet seller at 12pm. Hope everything check out OK. Finger crossed.
p/s - My friend was called "GIGI" because of braces too. His name Peter. You him?
David/Takashi
Ok understand now. Will see what the technician say tomorrow. Hopefully he can be mutual enough to point out potential repairs needed and indicative cost. Can use it to "tekan" the seller for more discount.
Ex001,
The scracthes is that prominent huh? I thought if you guys(sifus) missed it then I don't need to replace the crystal. :-[ Was told that it cost Rm500 excluding labour to replace it!! Anyway, i think I will leave it alone.
James Bond? Ha ha ... if you see the scrathces on my watches, then you think I am Superman...

Guys,
Just came back from Swatch. Watch verified to be original (incl movement) and in working conditions. Swatch charged me Rm20 but thats because I wanted them to verified the movement as well, otherwise it's FOC. They also confirm the serial number with their DB and everything checks out OK. Deal done. Took them 1 hr to check.
My problem now is my wrist is too big so can "pegang" and "raba-raba" but cannot wear. Damn potong steam only. Anyway does anyone has and additional link to sell?
Also, thanks all for the comments and feedback. Appreciate it.
Thanks

Good news  Way cheaper than RSC of RM175 :HammerHead:
Don't they sell the extra link?
-
CK77,
Too eager to leave for office and forgot to enquire. But seller told me will cost RM85 per link if new and need to wait 1 month!!!
Will check out my usual watch shop to see whether do they have an extra lying around. If not, then will order next week.
Cheers

CK, MY RSC is charging RM 175 for verification (btw SG RSC is charging sgd 75)?? Do they give u any pouch after verification like what SG RSC did??
-
Try the Omega at Pavilion, they usually have some parts to sell there.
-
Thanks takashi/dennis
Just called them.. No luck. Btw they say I can opt for a rubber strap (incl buckle) which cost Rm1300!!!!! :Startled: Almost fainted.
Pegang pun pegang sajalah dulu.

hey mate, I enquire a quote before from LVMH for my Carrera's S/S bracelet with buckle, been quoted at sgd 500+ so is equv to RM 1200.. and for your case i learn tat what is premium rubber strap.. Means rubber = or > stainless steel... :Laughing_on_floor:
I knew both is different brand & design and cant compare in this manner but I just little bit shocked..
FYI - my Sinn rubber strap only cost me Euro 30 a pair (w/o buckle)...
-
Thanks takashi/dennis

You can always but my gently used Omega buckle and put it on a aftermarket strap.
Look in the for sale section, my post is there.
-
At least yours come with BOTH strap and buckle ... the Glashutte croc strap is RM1600 without the buckle and the Blancpain buckle without bracelet costs RM1100! :o

Never use them before, that's the quote over the phone.
-
Hi Dennis
Rm1200 for Stainless steel is still "acceptable" lah as its last forever but premium rubber or not it is still going to wear out soon. EU30 only for SINN?? Hmm... wonder can use or not on the Seamaster. Don't mind having it as spare. Can get Takashi's buckle.
Anyway, I have ordered the link already and will arrive in 4 weeks time. Cost Rm85 + Rm20 labour to put it in. Meantime, can only stare at the watch only. :Blue:
Peanut,
Wow... but then its Croc Skin wor. Some more those are high end watches. Must be lor. Actually the Omega strap cost Rm500 but the buckle is Rm800.
Takashi
Thanks for the lead. Found the trade but will kiv first as I have already ordered the link. If I can find any other rubber strap that I can use, then I will get the buckle from you.
Cheers

The seller should have included the extra unused links with the watch.
-
Gchee
The seller has tried contacting the first owner but couldnt get him to surrender the box other stuff. He is still trying
Thanks
-
Dear Armereth,
Its time for the seller (me )to come out n say something, hahaha.. i will still trying to contact the seller, by hope will bring u some good news later on...
Besides, really nice trading with u... thanks
-
Hi Darren
Welcome.
Thats great. Fyi, I have already ordered the link but I sure hope to have the box and papers. Meantime, I quite keen in the Firemen 2 but not at that price lah. Silght reduction will def see me snacthing it up. Also, if the deal is on, the dealing method will be similar i.e. meeting at Service center (Ball Malaysia) for verification and COD when everything checks out OK.
Thanks
