because there are a lot of desperate and/or greedy Malaysians...
if a buyer says they from SG, I always tell them I can arrange COD at MRT station and they will either come up with another excuse or go silent...

Better safe than sorry, really got lots n lots of unscrupulous individuals out to take advantage of any trading situation these days. Perhaps u can specify on ur mudah ad for MY trade only, not foreign, f2f cod or something like that?

I experience before.
They ask your bank account details. And they will arrange GDex to pick up the watch.
After 5 minutes they will text said that already transferred. But without giving u any supporting document/ bank in slip.
After I check my account number, there's no transaction.
I reply to the buyer. Then he said that I'm a scammer and will report to police.
I just block his WhatsApp number after that.
Wasting my time.

Extremely helpful to read this message. I posted a watch on carousell.com.my and almost immediately I had several people offer to buy the watch and have the courier pick it up. They asked for bank account details, but they were so aggressive that I decided not to go thru with the sale and just blocked the number. I suspected that they would try to say that they had transferred the required purchase amount without actually transferring any money.
No idea that every platform has been inundated with scammers of this type.

Lucky for you not being desperate, I can’t believe people is taking advantage of human weakness giving them another stab when they are looking for help in life

Its ridiculous isn't it?
Almost at every point we get inundated from these scammers. I wonder what sort of steps can be implemented to root them out or at least exclude them completely. It gets really annoying la, to the point I'm dreading to want to even post something online to sell - have to register a new phone line even in case scammers keep spamming the number

Good information here for those new to the hobby. I usually insist on COD, just to be on the safe side.

Faced a similar situation, not on selling any watches, but luxury goods. The modus operandi is the buyer will insist on their own pick-up delivery service (through DHL/FEDex). Then, they will e-mail us a transcript of a bank (FAKE/Photoshopped) from Western Union/Bank of Scotland with our details on them, insisting they will only release the payment once we wire customs fee(worth maybe 30% of the value of the item).
Please be cautious, friends, and block the buyer immediately.
