I've sold a Rolex Submariner gold and stainless steel, 90's model.
The best thing to do with rolex's is to take it to Menara Dion, pay the RM 170 assessment/authenticity check.
While they only give you a receipt to tell whether it's authentic , one should tell them that they want to service it and assess the costs.
That's when they give you the "mainetenance/service" paper in white. That's the only way I learnt that the sapphire crystal on the rolex I sold was a replacement and not genuine.
