Engraving service on caseback of Tudor
« on: October 06, 2023, 07:33:50 AM »
Dear fellow members, anyone has any idea whether any place in Malaysia that can provide engraving service on the caseback? Or does Tudor provide such service itself? Please enlighten me. Cheers :)

Thanks! Was looking for one as well..

Question: Is there a difference between laser and traditional tool engraving in terms of longevity ie. will the laser one "wear off" after some use..

that certainly didn't strike my mind - quoting on what I found comparing traditional etching type vs laser :p

Which Engraving lasts longer?

There is no straight answer as to which type of engraving lasts longer. The durability of engraving depends more on the type of metal the text is engraved on and the environment in which it is worn. While there are soft metals and hard metals, the environment that the bracelet or necklace is worn in can determine how many years before the engraving may begin to fade or become difficult to read. If you play a lot of sports, it’s likely your medical ID may get scratched. Also, if you live on a coast near the beach, the saltwater can react with your jewelry differently than if you lived inland.

personally I don't think traditional engraving is common anymore, if I ever come across with any engraving videos it's always using laser.
