In a secret location far far away from home...

These are on my wrist today....
All Grand Seikos...... all lovely..
nightmare for me...
alas but none of them mine except for the black SBGC003 Chrono GMT in the background...

sorry for the lousy blur shots using iPhone... my hands were trembling.....
Shown 5 GS but I took wrist shots of my 3 favourites only- all 40/41mm  (the other 2 were 38 mm too small for my wrist)….one maybe two will be mine shortly…

Take note of the difference in bracelet and case quality between the Master Shop models ( 1 Spring Drive and the other 36,000 Hi Beat) and the 1 other non-Master Shop model(Automatic only). Steel quality looks different and weight also different. MS models start at around RM 20K whereas non-MS start at abt RM 10K. Even GS has differentiation of higher end, lower end.
You can only buy MS models from MS designated shops. Even Chino cannot supply MS models.

ur heart stop beating when u saw the Snowflake izit?  nyah nyah.... ;)

Up north of bolehland...

Since I'm on a business trip... made my host have lunch at Chid Lom as I wanted to drop by the GS Mastershop....My last visit here sometime back,  I dropped by the Paragon outlet.

Unfortunately have left the shop by the time I posted this... :(
Can't concentrate on the meeting after that.... my heart was beating real fast, my hands were shaking when I saw all those goodies...even the gorgeous salesgirls didn't get a 2nd look...
Luckily I can get my host to get what I want by the time he reciprocates my visit... :Jumping:

So far I've only seen the SBGC 004 (solid gold version of my SBGC003 and costing close to
RM 100,000 nett ) worn by Dr Bernard Cheong during one of our gatherings last year when we were invited by Grand Seiko for a function.......that was how I bought the SBGC003 immediately afterwards after inspecting his watch for 15 mins and trying it on..
I dunno why the SBGC004 costs slightly over than 3 times of SBGC003 when it is on leather strap/gold deployant clasp... The case uses that much gold ? Can't remember if the entire movement uses solid gold or not..

Do you find the chrono pushers bit protruding and inconvenient at times?

Maybe I'm bias but I think the GS is superbly designed. The pushers are on the upper top of the case so its less likely to dig into your lower arm.
I wear my watches on my right wrist (I'm a south paw). When I sometimes place my hand flat on a table top with the hand perpendicular to my lower arm, I have yet to feel the pushers  digging in. Never tried it on my left wrist so can't comment.

Like everyone else when I first saw and tried the watch, I thought the pushers were far too big and long. After having used the chrono, I now understand why.

The pushers are screw lockable. Upon unscrewing the pusher, it works in 2 actions. 1/2 press for ready, press fully for release or stop. GS followed the design of their 60's mechanical track stopwatches used for Olympics for this chrono. Unlike a Vj7750, the second doesn't jump when released. In conjunction with the 2 stop pusher, column wheel design, vertical clutch & the gliding second hand of the Spring Drive movt, its very smooth. When you reset the chrono, the chrono second hand swings backward slightly past the 12 marker into the 58th min mark then settles back at 12 perfectly aligned. Something like the IWC Rattrapante.

Since you're in S'pore if you know Dr Bernard Cheong, ask him to let you try his solid gold SBGC004... ;) He loves and praises this watch and he also owns AHCI's,UN's Freak, Vianney Halters and all the 6 figure watches in his collection. You can google his articles to hear him praise GS watches.
