Got this baby today. Thanks to takashi78 for tipping me over the edge.

New old stock GS SBGR001. Silver sunburst dial. Top class polishing! Best I have seen. The hands and markers are absolutely stunning. Even the finish on the date wheel is similar to the dial. A classic!

hi HusH,
so you've also joined the GS squad..congrats.. we should have a GS gathering soon..
I've been advocating the finishing quality of GS case, bracelet, dial, hands & movt. in several of my GS threads/posts. However GS does have limited style of cases, dials and bracelets so you can't really collect more than a few pieces. Sent you a pm on this...

Actually I don't agree that GS is pricy.
Given the same complication and back to back quality in metallurgy and finishing, GS is a lot cheaper than Swiss/German watches with in-house movts.
I just don't get it when someone balks at paying RM 20+K for a high end GS but willingly pays the same for a Swiss/German watch.
I believe in paying for quality not brand…I gladly paid close to RM30K for the SBGC003 which I think is fantastic value for a Chrono, GMT, PR with the quality of a proprietory hi-tech movt, exquisitely finished case, bracelet & hands not to mention unpararelled accuracy. An equivalent Swiss/German with proprietory movt would cost at least 2-3 times that of the GS.

This reminds me of a friend I had who bought a Daimler. His golf kaki scolded him for being stupid and asked why didnt he buy a Merc as he could get a good price even after 5-8 yrs. My friend just replied that first he wanted a car that he would enjoy driving and second he could afford it as resale value was not a consideration. He further added that he could not understand why people already thought of selling the car before even buying it. Touche' I said to him..I couldn't have said it better...
