After race Kimi do said that he actually required the wing to be replaced, but since the damage wasn't that substantial, and replacing it might take too long, Lotus decided to let him fly without wings. (sorry, can't help the pun)
Anyway, it does made me wonder, since one can do a whole race (plus a podium) without that wing, I wonder is it really functioning? might as well remove it all together and save some weight.
