THE MAX BILL BY JUNGHANS RANGE IN NEW COLOURS

In the middle of the 20th century the architect, painter, sculptor and product designer Max Bill created a range of watches for the watch manufacturer Junghans, the clear, logical design of which remains undimmed to this day. True to the motto "form follows function", the Schramberg-based company manufactures the design classic according to the original designs of the artist. In 2015, the timepieces of the max bill by junghans range will see the addition of new colour combinations. Because just as a musician selects the right tones to form an overall piece, in 2015 Junghans presents its watches in harmonious compositions.

STYLISH DESIGN

The three new model variants of the max bill Chronoscope, max bill Automatic and max bill Quartz are simple and clear, in bright hues. The colour scheme of the design classics focuses on their minimalist design. The dial is a discreet white, the indices, hours and lettering of the totalisers black. The leather strap is a warm beige, creating an optical harmony – a colour combination that can be traced throughout the range.

ARTISTIC FORM

A stylish interaction of discreet tones are evident in further new model versions of the max bill Chronoscope. The dial in cool grey and the calfskin strap in warm beige form a harmonious duet, highlighting the character of the watch. The hours appear in radiant beige, marking a continuation of the colour scheme. With an eye for detail the Junghans designers have based the typography of the weekdays – like the date display before them – on the Junghans logo of the 1960s created by Max Bill – as is to be expected of a design icon. In a further variant the max bill Chronoscope boasts a black dial and silver milanaise strap – simple and elegant, with a sporty note.

SPACE FOR COLOUR

The new max bill ladies' watches are inspired by the graphic works of Max Bill. Bold red and intensive blue – colours that the artist offered a clear space to in his compositions – are now reinterpreted in the new wristwatches. The colour is incorporated into both the strap and the hour indicators, skilfully setting ac-cents on the purist dial. Fans of discreet shades will be delighted with the model with graphite-grey dial, which underscores the clarity of this watch – the colour of the dial is also reflected in the leather strap, with its grey felt structure. The max bill ladies' models of 2015 fascinate with their perfect combination of stylish design and new, distinct colours.

THE MAX BILL BY JUNGHANS RANGE

In keeping with the premise "form follows function", artist and Bauhaus pupil Max Bill designed a timepiece of a very special kind. The logical design of the dial of the kitchen clock from 1956, which wrote design history as the Max Bill wall clock, became a characteristic feature of his timepieces. In 1961, it was incorporated into the design of the first wristwatches from Max Bill. The artist placed particular emphasis on the combination of utility value and beauty. With clear lines and the strive for aesthetic perfection, the design classics of the max bill by junghans range are still created in nearly the same way.

FASCINATING COLOURS

In 2015 Junghans presents the models of its successful Meister range in new shades. A classic colour scheme underscores the masterful character of the timepieces and is found throughout the collection, which is a delight at any time.

THE BLUE HOUR

This brief and fascinating moment can only be observed in a short frame of time during sunrise and sunset, lending the moment a particular effect with its deep-blue colour. It is this special atmosphere that the dial of the Meister Handaufzug (hand-winding) and Meister Chronoscope capture: presented in a blue sheen, it ensures a special aesthetic effect. The cognac-coloured leather strap skilfully accentuates the hue of the dial. A cool combination of the blue hour is achieved via the interaction of the deep-blue dial with a sporty stainless steel bracelet.

SKILFULLY PRESENTED

The Meister Agenda guarantees its wearer a masterful appearance at all times. It enables the precise planning of activities, as it displays the calendar week and is the perfect companion in your day-to-day life. Its face is characterised by eye-catching visual features: the calendar week and power reserve have their bowl-shaped place on the dial. The symmetry is rounded off by the even well-adjusted positioning of the weekday and date display. The functions on the graphite-grey dial are radiant in silver, thereby setting a fine contrast.

GRACEFUL HIGHLIGHTS

2015 sees the ladies' models of the Meister collection present themselves in fine attire for your evening events. Characterised by gentle yet distinctive colour tones, they represent perfect colour harmony. With their white-polished blue or grey dials, the timepieces are a feminine interpretation of the historic archetype. Graceful Roman numerals and diamond applique? ensure a glittering presence on the wrist – and make the Meister Ladies a true gem.

MAGICAL ATTRACTION

When the sun sinks lower and night falls, the heavenly bodies have exercised an unbroken fascination on people since the beginning of time. The moon, in particular, acquires a particular significance through its beauty. One feature of the Meister Kalendar is the moon phase display, which is perfected in the in- house printing facility, finely co-ordinated with the hue of the case, with the luminary exclusively accentuated. The indices and hands appear simple and elegant in the pink gold-coloured case, the graphite-grey dial lending a unique shimmer. The most classic of the Meister watches, the Meister Classic, also incorporates this colour dialogue, acquiring a new, graceful facet in the process.
