To me, in view of reliable in house movement watch that is other than ETA, only the basic models of Rolex, and Bvlgari with prices ranging from RM 24k to RM 29k.
Note: Don't ask me why must be only up to RM 29k. Because I only know if I buy a watch that its price tag is RM 30k and above, my wife is going to strangle me.

Affordable is directly proportional to income so since we have a wide ranging income in Malaysia, the definition of affordable is also wide.

Japanese Affordable: Seiko, Citizen, Orient, etc, range rm1k - rm3k
Western Affordable: Tissot, Mido, Hamilton, etc, range rm2k - rm6k
So a decent automatic watch with good time keeping (accuracy), I would say it will be ard rm5k - 6k, personally I am a big fan of entry level Ball watch with COSC at this price range.

If you really want something, you will find your way to make it affordable.
Also, to add on, perceived value is also an intangible factor here.. With my own experience, I find buying a 2-3k seiko divers to be affordable, but not a 2-3k Fossil watch.
To give an answer to Mr Meor's topic above, I would say Seikos, Hamiltons, and also Ball range to be affordable and anything more than 15k to be watches that need deeper considerations.

Now that i have started working, i deem a watch such as a Daytona to be sold at retail to be an affordable watch.

I tend to agree that anything you can wear daily without fear or damage or loss would be considered affordable. This amount would vary by individual
