Anyone converted bracelet to strap? Lets see em
« on: May 05, 2010, 07:31:02 AM »
Going from a bracelet to strap really changes the look of the watch without actually getting a new watch.
Depends on what you buy it can be economical as well.
I consider this cheap fun.
So lets see what watches you have that originally came with bracelet and now you have it on strap.
The PAM owners are welcome to share your strap collection as well.

What type of straps do you prefer?
Custom?
Some i know cost as much as an OM so lets discuss it here.

Sorry for the quality of pics...always taken using my 3yr old phone hehe...

Well here is mine, this is a cheap strap but i like the green stitching and gives a nice contras.
Buckle is not ori i'm afraid.
Really thinking of getting a high quality strap but still cant justify paying 10x the cost of this strap for one.

Thats very nice Scott !
Rolex sport models on strap really makes it fly under the radar for those not in the know.
Now lets see your PAM straps i know you have quite a few hehe....

Am thinking of getting a good quality strap for my SD when i take it out of the bank but still trying to justify the price tag....

Thinking of a Ted Su strap, he does some really good work.

PM'd you.

Hello,

The watch looks good when changing from bracelets to straps.  I am now also considering doing the same.

Do you mind letting me know how to size a strap for a watch?   I have a watch whereby the width of the bracelet is 18mm at the casing.

Also where can I purchase such straps?

Thanks.
Jon

Nice one Terrence. The Sinn looks great on the Nato.

Here's my conversion attempt, Milgauss on an alligator:

Good suggestion. The trouble with the Milgauss is, and I think it's generally applicable to most Rollies, that the spring bar is relatively fat and that leaves very little space between the spring bar and the casing. So the leather strap tends to scrap against the casing leading to premature wear and tear.

Any one has a solution to this problem?

danny, I'm not sure whether or possible to get this... I think there is a curve spring bar. I saw a few watch (forgot the brand already) using that. It follow the rounded casing at the lug. But not sure where to get it & not sure also whether any strap suitable for the curve spring bar...  ::)

Hi duniajam,
Thanks for the tip. I'll keep a lookout for this curved spring bars.

Agreed. A dark brown strap would probably suit the white face better.

HI all, my monster just changed from bracelet to black leather, suit with its black face. The leather got mesh layer so that the sweat wont damage much the strap and make a comfortable wearing...another one, fortis, is just back to its original strap...
