A noob review as there's nothing much to say at the moment.
Just some pictures I took of the unboxing.
Watch was sent for a full service today.
Outer Box (some slight tear at the bottom, nothing major... still in one piece)
Inner Leather Box (Still in good condition)
Opening it.... protective cloth
Tadaaaa... Still with the pillow
Comes with papers, anchor, chronometer tags and 2 extra links.
Currently there are 10 links on the watch. So, from my questions I posted earlier, there is a short of 1 link. And there are no booklets and instruction manuals...
Top Half view... Pip have patina to a slight cream color...
Bezel is stuck at one click after 12. The Rolex uncle say no problem... he will fix it together with the full service.
Bottom Half view... T<25 Dial... I blame ck77 for this T dial madness...
Markers seems to have some light cream color... or is it just me with my wishful thinking?
Crown side view... dunno why my camera cannot focus... wth...
Is this telling that it's time to get some serious photography gear?
Non crown side view.
The watch in it's full glory.
The links show some scuffs and light scratches consistent with usual wear...
Nothing major like dings or deep scratches... nothing a good buff could not cure.
And lastly, a wristshot.
I like the feel of this one on the wrist... not too big and not too small... just nice...
Since I wound the watch up yesterday when I received it, I set it to the Malaysian Standard time website... I checked back today before sending it for service, it is at -1...
That's not bad for a 15 year old watch don't you think?
My initial impression on this watch is it is beautiful.
The black glossy dial is nice with the white gold encased tritium markers..
No wonder more people prefer this to the date version.
Without the cyclops ka ka cau cau... the dial is clean and balanced.
There are also people who prefer this one to the 4 line COSC version and I can definitely see why.
With 4 lines of text... the dial kinda looks busy... 2 lines is good enough.
And by the way I look at it, COSC or not... the freakin watch is at -1 a day!! (Although only the first day)
What more can you ask for?
I reckon by playing around with the resting position, one might get it to +-0!!
The lug holes also lets you remove the bracelet without any special tool, just a toothpick will do.
No wonder there are those so called "lug hole purists" out there...
And that's about it... can't wait to get the watch back from service and wearing it with a Bond Nato and try my luck at the casinos again.... not!!!
Or maybe I should get a RubberB strap?
Let's see how it goes...
