I have to admit that I'm disappointed to see a modular chronograph powering the Heritage. For the asking price I would expect a real chronograph movement such as the Valjoux 7753.

Read in some forums saying that the modular chorno is hard and troublesome to service (i.e. Monaco, Speedmaster Reduced).
Can some sifus comment on this?

I read in some forums that one of the reasons for using the modular design is that the case can then be very slim < 12mm.  All the 'normal' chronographs have cases above 14.5mm.

I'm not sure about the DD module used in the Heritage, but it is said that the 2894 modular chrono from ETA is not servicable. In case of problems with the chronograph function, the whole chrono module will have to be replaced.

i tot this one is even bigger than GMT2?? saw the side by side comparison photo somewhere... this piece by all mean not a light piece.

AFAIK, 7750 is build as a chrono module. Whereas modular chorno is modified from an normal auto ETA into chrono function, i.e. Monaco, Speedy Reduced.

There are some mixed review on modular chorno, but generally they are more complex to service.

i try to explain... i no expert....

-7750 is a chrno from the ground up. Means the whole chrno thinggy are intergrated into the movement. Downside is it is very tall and fat.

-2894 is basically a 2824 attached with a seperate chrono module.

When your service it:
-apparently the amplitude on 2894 will go crazy even after u full service it. Its found out latter that its the module that cause the friction hence causing the crazy amplitude. That why they replace the whole module itself whenever it go for service.

-Servicing 7750 should be no prob cause the whole thing is integrated into each other. (dunno how to explain on this) 

Another example using car modding is:

-getting Wira and dump in evo engine and all upgrade its mod (ECU, Air intake, turbo, suspension and etc) to get in same power range and drivavity of F430 (2894)
-getting a Ferrari f430 without any mod but come together with a complete package from the factory (7750)
