Chris – Thanks for the clarifications.
Many would have agreed that we ourselves know our friendly repairer, be it watches, automotive, the electrician, plumber etc, well enough to entrust the job to them.
My profession is automotive. I am well verse on certain car make & model. I can tell how many mounting bolts and its sizes in diameter mounted on its flywheel. But then I cannot say the same for other make.
The same goes for the individual watch repairer, he/she may do well and skillful on say…an omega movement. But when you give her / him a JLC movement, this repairer may have problem. He still accepts your watch but eventually sublet to outsource.
Instead of running around looking for the JLC specialist, I / we might as well hand the watch over to our friendly and trusty repairer to save the hassle. (my actual experience). Yeah, that time, the quotation was delayed. And eventually, all things work out fine.
Now, imagine if entrusted this JLC to an individual ( with no formal reception) and then try calling her / him days later for quotation with no respond (or the phone always dead), this is no laughing matter and you will break into cold sweat. Don’t playx2..
But then, I am sure you have to trust them in the first place. right?
So as is, thanks again and we are sharing our experiences everyday to all.
My 2cts again…
