New BR03 Heritage
« on: July 07, 2010, 05:21:10 PM »
I am looking at getting my wife a BR03 for her birthday as a casual fashion watch.  We were about to get the BR03-92 Military (it only fits her wrist with the canvas strap), but I was recently informed that the new BR03 Heritage is coming out mid July here in Malaysia and was told to give it a try before making a decision.  I think it suits the ladies, but not sure if the leather strap will fit her (rubber one on the BR03 doesn't).  The BR03 Heritage will look like the BR01 Heritage but smaller in size:

What do u all think of ladies wearing the B&R?  Suitable or should we stick to higher quality more mainstream watches like the Omega?

A lady wearing B&R is definitely less common as most of them (Asian women including my other half) have too slim a wrist for such a big watch.  I got a Cartier Santos 3 months ago and wifey has been very happy with it as it can be worn both for casual and formal occasions.  It all depends on your needs and preference.  Personally, I don't like Omega as it is like you said "too mainstream" and common. JLC Reverso, Blancpain were the other 2 brands I was looking at when I shopped for her the last time.

as an owner of a br-03 i would not recommend one. first and foremostly the styling is not really suitable for a lady. also it is slightly heavy plus pvd also not really feminine.ahahahahah..sounds sexist but a rolex will be much better then a br-03...my br-03 i use less frequent due to the styling.sticking to my legend diver at the moment

Thanks for the feedback guys.  I always found gals wearing 44mm Pams and 42mm BR pretty cool (check out the pic below).  Not your dinner gown watch but ok for daily casual wear. Somehow i have managed to convince my wife its cool too haha  But certainly will take note of the weight and comfort when we try the heritage.

+1 on that. I see a lot of women nowadays wearing bigger watches especially at clubs and some casual places.  :-*

If my wife looks like that, I would prefer she wears nothing at all!   :Laughing_on_floor:

comfort is the key here.

my wife wears my PAM once a while but kinda find it not that comfortable because the crown guard digs into her hands and also the lugs hit the bones on the wrist.

try it out and swing it round abit to see if it;s fine with her

as a ex-BR03 owner my opinion is B&R should actively create the 3rd party strap market because as Chris pointed out straps is a major issues.
I dun like rubber strap because as u sweat it becomes uncomfy but the supplied nylon strap is so bloody long and when my last check with B&R the nylon strap i got is already the smallest.

Thinking of getting 3rd party but its not a lot out there and some are really weird so end up I just keep the watch away instead of wearing it and that's why I sold it.

As far as I know BR have some smaller model for ladies in ceramic white n some even have stones so u can take a look b4 u decide.

Yes with the canvas strap, there is a way to wear it to bypass the one of the buckle loops to shorten it.  Essentially, the velcro seal will overlap the buckle.  This is how the sales dude in Sincere Pav showed us.  Apparently many women do this to fit the BR03.

The BR03 Heritage uses a leather strap instead of a rubber one, and according to a friend who works at FJBenjamin who has tried it, she says it feels a lot better on her wrist, hence recommended me to give that a look before committing.  Anyway, as advised, we'll try it out at the AD once stocks come in and see how it goes :).

Another shot of B&R's on ladies (with more clothes) from an event I attended here in KL sometime back..

If that is the case it raise another 2 issues

1. The comfort issue, u do not wear as per the design

2. The by pass will increase the risk of dropping the watch

but if u can get a gd design n consider all above comments then go ahead!
Because u sound the poisons of br03 already deep into ur heart!
If u don't get it, u won't eat n sleep well...

So back to basic rule, buy it if u like it!

looks like a BR03-92 (42mm) for me since it has date.. the BR01-92 (46mm) has no date (for that model) if i'm not mistaken...

further more, the 6 o'clock should have just 1 lines for this model unless it's a "Limited Edition" ;) so, i'm not sure if it's real or fake  :P

The carbon finishing also looks a bit off.  Then again maybe it's a "limited edition"  ;)
