Title: Whats the cheapest watch you own?
Post by: takashi78 on January 08, 2011, 03:38:02 PM
Inspired by another forum.
Lets get cheap and see whats the cheapest watch currently in your collection right not.
Cheapest in terms of how much you got it for and not market value.
I'll start, my all time best buy thanks GiGi :P

Surprise surprise the watch is still working, as is the clock. Both from bape magazine. The magazine itself not that expensive, but since my wife paid for it, technically it is still free. :)

Q&Q rubber strap quartz....
Found it when I was moving to my new house.
Wore it during my school days like 25 years ago.
Dunno if you guys know the brand.
And I brought it to a watch shop to see if i can get it working again for sentimental sake, the battery acid have spoiled the internal organs.
RIP :Praying:

I bought a leather strap a few weeks ago, but the buckle has some brand on it, which I didn't like. So I ordered a sterile 316L Stainless Steel buckle from the US. While waiting for the buckle to arrive, I bought a cheap no brand watch to get its plain buckle to be used as temporary buckle while waiting for my "real" buckle to arrive. The no brand watch was less than RM50 I think.

Seems like most of us have an inner cheapskate even when it comes to watches. Mine's is a quartz Swatch I bought about half a year ago for RM 210.

Everybody loves a bargain and this thread just shows that buying watches does not have to be an expensive hobby. In fact some of the international forums focus on or have a specific section on 'affordables'. Keep it going guys!!

If talks about bargain and good price: performance ratio.

This quartz movement Tissot was bought at RM 580. Just like my Cyma were all bought more than 2 decades ago.

Me too, the cheapest watch i have bought is Q&Q for RM10.00 each at pasar malam watch stall 4 years ago. So cheap that i bought 4.

2 i stuck on my bikes and another 2 as spare in case it gets stolen. but other than 1 spoiled (due to battery leak damage), the other 3 is running fine to this day with only 1 battery change each. now only 1 is used on bike while the other 2 i wear it occasionally just for the lulz.

Most affordable watch that I'm still wearing: Casio G-Shock, cost approx. RM400. Previous cheapest but spoilt: a Casio Digital watch, approx. RM80.

That would point to the handful of G-Shocks that I have bought over the years. The basic ones were quite affordable, and you could always flip them easily if you wanted a new style. Cheap and durable.

For quartz... I don't think I remember, that was my primary school time.

However, talking about when I am afford to buy my first mechanical watch, that should be a B Swiss. There's no reseller here. I bought it at Switzerland during my honeymoon many yrs ago. I remember the watch cost me around RM1600. A real swiss made watch n bought in Switzerland. The movement is ETA-2824.

Attach is the picture.

Seiko 5 SNX115.

I bought it for RM300 last year. But I think I spend more than RM100 to look for that watch. Even travel to different state to look for it. Haha

I have a Casio Pro-Trek which I bought over 10 years ago.

Only need a battery changed once.

Everything is working except the compass and light function.

After 10 years I say its worth every penny I paid for
