I was told by some other members previously when the watch start losing accuracy after 1 week of use then it's a sign of time to service.
-
Thanks Gremlims and Kygan711...
I never service my Oris since I purchased it 1997 and after several year left in in box,
the crown feel tight when to wind it...Is this one of the sign that my watch need
to be serviced...
-
yes one of t sign your watch need to service and consider t fact your watch is 17 yrs old. the lubrication oil would have dried up .
-
yeah its definitely time for a service
-
Thanks all for your advised...usually, how about the cost for service automatic watch...
Maybe need to change rubber parts such as O ring...crown stem gasket...
-
standard full service includes replacement of all gaskets, and mainspring, and also the reverser wheel in automatic watches, (standard practice for Rolex, Omega and others)
How much depends on the brand. Rolex Omega, prepare to pay $$$, for Seiko generally its ard 150 incl. shipping.

I was informed that if the turning sound become loud when u shake the watch (clock's wise 6 swing to 12), then is time to send for service to add oil..
-
So far i know the cheapest service cost for automatic movement are seiko, miyota, and swiss ETA (non complication).

last time i asked about servicing cost (& repair since it stopped working) of my Tissot PRS auto at a shop in Amcorp mall... was quoted almost RM800.. since the watch only cost about Rm2.5K to purchase many years ago..i decided to keep it..
and not repair..
i think the servicing of manual winding watches are cheaper

I am curious too, do we need to do like regular service for automatic watches if nothing is wrong with it?
-
If you want a reliable watch fixer, try Wah Foong at Jln Raja Laut and look for Steven. Pretty honest guy.

Hi
I would appreciate any recommendations for 7s26 seikos and vintage citizen Seiko calibers like 8110 and 6139s.
I have a couple of bad experiences with watch repairers so I hope I can at least get an honest one. One of mine swapped parts and I called him out on it. When I asked what's wrong he said everything is perfect and it turned out it was gaining 4s per hour.
Thank you.
