Looking for a watch cost less than Rm2k
« on: August 16, 2010, 08:15:27 AM »
hi there,

i wanted to buy watch for my brother inlaw for his wedding gift. age roughly 35-36 yrs old. i was wondering  what are the best watch to buy that cost less than rm2000 (10/10 more or less is ok). its a wedding gift so it gotta be special and durable. he is currently using a old seiko watch. i searched the web and found there are 2 watch brands that fits my categories. tissot and seiko. is there any other brands? please also write down the model. im quite keen on tissot prc200 but im still deciding. i know he loves an oris but im not sure if there any oris that cost less than rm3,500. please advice

I will recommend a seiko sumo

get it from higuchi/chino/seiya online, it's below rm2k include of shipping!

A seiko diver
42mm steel case
evergreen design
automatic 6r15 hack n windable workhorse movement
fantastic lume

it's not really rare but it is not easy to find in Malaysia
it's meant for all the watch lover

Since you are considering Tissot, this fit into your criteria perfectly.

Tissot Visodate

I m sure forum members would be able to help you better if you could specify :
Movement- automatic or quartz
Features- day/date/chronograph/etc
Dial color- white/black/etc
Style- diver/dress/etc
For Oris I think the basic F1 model is slightly above 2k. There is also one Oris for sale in the sales section.

just like to reply kltime post. actually i dont mind as long as its within the budget range. but i prefer it to be classy or dressy style. nevertheless, i am still open for other type of watch. you mentioned the basic f1 oris watch that cost slightly more than rm2000? do you have its reference no? sorry for the trouble.

i also like to take this opportunity to thank both ckcspice and skccks for introducing me to epos. its a new brand to me but since its your recommendations, i will also put it into considerations.

i still have 1 full month to make my final decisions so do keep all your post coming. thanx everyone

Sorry I don't hv the ref no. I think its the basic model with date only and rubber strap- abt 2.5k or thereabouts.

bro, I went to Pavilion yesterday and came across this booth - Invicta watches....big son of a guns of a watch...each ones measuring at least 48 to 50 mm and look damn expensive...but then....surprise surprise...it only costs about RM 2K plus each one...for all the Swiss Quartz movement...the ETA 7750 will cost u about RM 7K but still...looking at the design and built and size..it is still good value for money....seriously u should check it out, then going for the normal boring types like Oris, Ball, Tissot, etcs...no offence intended guys...i used to collect them and then got bored of them and start selling them off damn cheap for other type...
