Business as usual at an AD in Nusentral.
Watches were not subject to SST prior to GST.

How about Rolex?
-
Rolex AD in BSC said no more GST for current stock ... meaning slow moving Datejusts etc. will be cheaper. Then again they always had 5-8% discounts on these anyway, which they may or may not apply now.
Sports models ? No GST for sure ... but I'm certain they'll put up the base price.
-
No SST at this point in time, most watch shops seems to be boosted up their sales since 1st Jun.

Surprise, surprise .... they really did roll back the GST and still maintained the 5% discount for most Oyster Perpetual & Datejust models. But looks like they took all the sports models off the shelves ... at least at Pavilion. Not sure about the other ADs.
-
So looks like we will get the 6% discount and hopefully the new SST will not affect watch as before...
But why the dealer keep all the premium models off shelves? What difference does it make they sell now and after SST Implementation? They may missed some potential cumstomer without displaying their stocks... hmm... ???

Not sure if it's temporary or not as maybe they still have not sort out what price to sell. Or maybe they are willing to hoard stocks to earn superb margin when SST comes in as compared to now reduction of 6%.

Another great thing about 0% GST is that you don't have to worry about paying extra for watches delivered from overseas

which means on september, the price will still be the same without gst is that correct ?
as you've said that sst doesn't apply to watches.

Hopefully, they might impose luxury tax.

I received my sumo from Japan without custom fees duty charges a month ago. Super lucky, whatnot.... Another one is on the way from us. Let's see if any customs duty fees charged thereon.

Watches has not been subjected to tax for quite a while..

Yes correct and my bad of mistakenly confuse the GST with import tax duty. Yesterday I received 2 watches from US and as mentioned here that since currently is zero GST and no import tax duty for watches, so I pay nothing except the sale price only. Save quite a lot compared to the time of GST. Think when SST time, the watches price be it local or imported oversea will be generally increased.
-
Recently bought pre-owned Watch and got held by customs when it came in yesterday. Earlier part when GST was zero rated, I had brought in watches without any prob.
So this time quite unfortunate. The poslaju folks called me and when I enquired about the tax holiday, they agreed that that should be the case now but still I have to waste time and money to go customs to clear my parcel.
Anyone got similar experience lately?

Already checked "Proposed Goods Exempted from Sales Tax" list from Malaysia GST officially website.
