a brand new set retail at 19k from boutique.

Micro brands are good if you're okay for being a non-brand whore
If you are a brand whore:
Seiko
Orient
Oris
Tissot
Longines
Frederique Constant
Steinhart

If you're only going to go for brand new, I'd highly recommend checking out what Oris has to offer. They've got quite a history and you get pretty solid quality watches for your budget. That, or if you wanna' save more money, try Longines.

Seiko SARX035 or others within the same range is good. Looks & finishing similar to GS, at a lower price.

A used Maurice Lacroix is a worthy investment on the finishing and attention to detail. Especially Masterpiece series.. Just my own liking...

How about Bell & Ross?

Bell & Ross is not bad though, built tough, finished in detail. Its just that both new price and used market value are quite high, Despite the basic u get.

IMHO, 10k is neither here nor there. Too much for a decent watch but not enough for a really nice one either.

If you're aiming for a proper luxury brand in the future, for now best to just get a nice Seiko automatic ie. Divers, Presage etc. for less than 2k and put the balance 8k in the kitty for something really nice in the future.

But if you know 10k is all you'll ever want to spend on a watch, go with one that you like looking at & messing with everyday, regardless of future residual value or investment etc etc.

For 10k , you would want some very good brand visibility that you can show off :

Top brands around that price range with good visilbity : Breitling , Black Bay Tudor , second-hand Omega Speeedmaster, Tagheuer

I second the notion to up RM2-3K for used Omega Speedmaster.

But if you really want to stick to RM10K, I would go for a used Nomos, maybe a Tangomat because I used to have one. You can't beat in-house movement and German bauhaus design  :)

Below 10k, maybe seiko. Marinemaster tuna 1000m, or marinemaster legend mm300. As accurate as Swiss with in house movement.

Anything below 10k would be Seiko. Lots and lots of Seiko.  :Laughing_on_floor:

Below is my Green Slut... (cheapest of my watch range and definitely one of my personal favourites)

Well, can always buy a used. Depends on luck for the condition and price. There’s always a steal price, happy hunting.
