Hi MWF,
I'm currently looking to buy a watch RM5,000.00 or below.
Below are the requirements:-
Budget: Below 5k
strap: stainless steel
Case and strap Color: silver
Dial base color: Black, dark blue or white
design: classic
Others: Simple design with date, does not require chronograph
Design reference: Rolex datejust, Oris aquis
Swiss made only
No designer brand
Just wondering how much is brand new Oris Aquis now in Malaysia?
Thank you.
-
Since you stated that you were looking for designs in the lines of Rolex Datejust or Oris Aquis, and within a RM5k budget constraint, you could look at Titoni Cosmi King (Day-Date) and Oris Aquis (rubber strap). You need to put on a good bargaining game to get to RM5k, but if you could stretch your budget by a few hundred, it should be an easy task. Both brands go with quite generous discounts normally.
-
Thanks Andy,
The 2 watches you mentioned is brand new or used?
Any place u could suggest to get these watches? Im based in Cheras KL.
Thanks again

My choices would be:
1. Titoni Cosmo King
2. Epos Originale or Passion
3. Ball

Brand new, of course. You could get very good discounts in the shop. In pre-owned markets, these 2 brands would be relatively more affordable as they don't retain their relative values much. But if you were keeping the watches for yourself or only plan to flip a few years down the road, by all means you would have gained the "wear" over time. You have to start somewhere- and the Oris Aquis was one of the watches that started me off the horological route. Both brands are possible to get at Mid-Valley, relatively near you.
-
Preowned Longines legend diver or Ball trainmaster would probably meet your requirement.
-
Perhaps Laco or Stowa if German watches are fine for u.
-
Did you consider certina dive watches? Would have extra money to buy another watch after that too! Can also check out Tissot watches. Which model I'm not sure though.

Preowned Longines Legend Diver.
Such a simple but sporty watch at the same time. Can be dressed up and down. The only downside is you have to have the wrist size.
-
Ball marvelight totally look alike Rolex datejust so I guess u will love it. Or ball fireman victory white dial look very very class. Both stand at 40mm , bracelet steel polished link, Swiss made, within your budget, not designer brand as u said, u may Google search have a look. Both after discount also in range 3.7-4.5k only.
-
I can introduce my friend to u have a very good discount. Haha
-
Lol. Buy Stowa. I'm biased off course.

Hi Olkuu, I am not so firmiliar with Ball watchers but the Marvelight actually caught my eye. I am currently looking into Baume et Mercier as well cause my friend can get me with great discount but doesnt seem to find anything I like in that brand.
Btw, do pm me your friend contact/shop address.
Thanks man!

With 9k budget, you may try out Frederique Constant, Vulcain, Breitling for moonphase watches.

I think 9k can't get those haha even pre-owned.. any place u could recommend?

If you don't mind older models, may I suggest the Raymond Weil Maestro Automatic Moonphase 2839 with either white or black dial. The MSRP was USD2450 but you can get it brand new below RM5K now.

Maybe this one?

For something below RM5,000 range, I will recommend Seiko or Oris. Apart from the branding, is bcoz of not only they both develop their own in-house movement, but it's fine & reliable also, design wise are also not bad.
-
Nomos not considered? There's one for sale by a fellow forumer here goinf for less than 5k.. dont hv a date tho

For less than RM2500, you can support crowd funding watch manufacturers:
try this - https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/bolido/bolido-swiss-selfwinding-mechanical-timepieces?ref=discovery
-
Sinn 103, Seiko presage , Hamilton, Fortis

MYR5k I would suggest ORIS or Longines...
If you go for pre owned then the choice will be wider.
