hey all, finding the best tyre for racing..i found out Bridgestone Potenza RE-11, Toyo R888 and PSC2 are not bad but i never use before...who use these tyres before can give some opinion?
-
but i dont think these tyre is suitable to be used in our country lor. cause these tyre is for racing purpose, and our highway speed limit just 110km/h. if speed, later summon a lot, how to pay? lol
so i dont it is necessary to buy such high end performance tyre la, not cheap thou

haha not really just asking opinion

Those tyre that u gv are high end tyre, it is also suitable for street use, it is very much depend on personal preference, not only for racing.

-I had RE070 run flat i assume is pretty similar to re11 , sticked like a glue when warm but slip like a crab on skates when wet. And i get around 5 000 km out of the tyres .
-psc2 good sport tyre, but grip no wear near re070 in dry, the re070 is stiffer too. If u want street driving, use the psc2. Re070 is rather really for high performance driving. For wet i believe psc2 is better. However i did not have the 2 tyres installed in the same car.

5000 km, now that's cost effective

Lol... i was shocked and nearly went bankrupt . The tires was retailing rm2500 each. Then again , i do go quick and accelerate brutally too and its a 800bhp car. After the first round of tires changed , i have to admit that i became more gentle when i drive...!

800bhp, now that's fuel efficient

As i know PSC2 tyre is new tread design which is 20% deeper and it is more efficient with water dissipation
you can check this out to find out more http://www.michelin.com.my/Products-Services/Car-SUV-LT/passenger_car/Pilot_Sport_Cup_2.html

sounds like u had experienced with PSC2? what car are u using for both tyre?
-
well, for street usage can be something cheaper lo if you don't have much requirement. im also using cheaper one which is P3ST, it is very good enough for me. cause i dont really speed always.

rs3 or ad08r is quite good....r888 is sticky good but when it rains then must be careful heheh

The first question is to know what car or how powerful is the car that will be running on the racing tyres. An all rounder top spec michelin PSS can still be slippery for a car like GT-R when full throttle.

personally tried r888 and ad08r, r1r on the same car.
r1r is soft and quiet good for daily
r888 has the best grip in dry and I can full throttle at most bends i get full confidence. in wet it's shitty and slippery.
ad08r by far is the most balance btw wet and dry, easy for street and mild touge.
I suppose psc2 is pilot sports cup 2 tyre? never tried it but had a set of ps4s. the cup is for cup car I suppose and it's damn expensive for daily. need some warm up too before we can put the throttle down right?

i would say best racing tyre u can buy is pilot sport cup 2 tyres
-
potenza bit hard but last long
toyo mainly for drifting
-
nowadays for track days you can look at RS4, A050, PSC2
but for high performance tyres that you can also run on track you can look at direzza z3, ad08, v720(cheaper option)
-
For me I prefer the ad08 among all others.
-
all i can say is Potenza is a bit hard if you daily whichever car you're putting this on - if it's just a weekend car then by all means.
