What’s your thoughts about this? Yay or Nay?

It is a yay for me.
-
one vote for gmt
jubilee bracelet looks exclusive.
rolex prices will increase 8% - 10% after baselworld 2018. true?
-
Vintage feel
Not really my cup of tea
-
When you compare it to Tudors effort, this is a massive yay.

Big yay here too!

Sorry nay for me. For the Pepsi best go vintage imo

After a good night's rest I still think the new one is an absolute stunner! Yes it's still a yes and I hope to own one eventually but the old one won't be replaced. It's holds its own in my humble opinion.

Still quite a sight to wake up to.

Any reseller got their hand on this piece yet?

Despite the flak it receives, I think the jubilee fits right in with the GMT Master being an aviation watch. So a yay all the way.

I was just thinking about this. Imagine if they had done the GMT in the BB 58's 39mm case instead. Would've been an instant winner

That 58 is giving me the tingles indeed.

is it me or what? the shoulders look narrower compared to the previous GMT

No its not just you. The lugs have been slimmed down and has lost the boxiness. I prefer the new slimmer lugs.
-
no feel at all..
-
Super NO
-
I just paid a 100% advance for this to an AD yesterday - 3-6 months delivery time. So that's a "yes" for me :)
Cant wait for it to get here. Will likely sell my white 216750 Explorer 2 once i get it.
-
Which AD?
Sure got stock?
-
I thot the ADs are not allowed to take deposits or full payment ? If can, many would have done that to secure Daytonas, etc.
-
Anyway I'm not waiting months to get one ... just switch out the Oyster for a Jubilee (albeit not quite correct 555 end pieces) on my 16750, and I'm good to go.
Harder to find ? Possibly. Cheaper ? Marginally. More character ? Indeed ... IMHO

Not in Malaysia.
Same AD was taking deposits for Daytona as last year (although in both cases, this offer was available for established customers only).
I am kicking myself for not taking advantage of that...

Great job KY! I was thinking along the same lines too. I have a day date with a broken mainspring and I was tempted to cannibalise it for its jubilee bracelet. If only I can remember where I put it...
-
Thanks :)
Do you mean Datejust ? Coz the Jubilee doesn't really fit Day-Dates well due to its slightly different lug design.
-
It's a day date definitely and you're right, not only will the bracelet not fit, it came with a presidential bracelet. OK Gotta scrap the plan then.
By the way, do you know where I can pick up a jubilee which is era specific to my 16710?
-
For steel, the old Jubilee bracelet is generically 62510H but the end pieces differ between Datejust (555) and different variants of GMTs ... some 1675 uses 50, 16750 is 550, your 16710 should be 502 which is extremely expensive due to rarity.
Will PM you to chat on the side so not to disrupt this thread. Hope my info is useful to those into vintages.
-
Reviving this old thread since we're starting to see the the new Pepsi arriving on our shores .. albeit grey imports.
If anyone has updates, rumors, gossip etc about this, kindly post it here.
Had a brief chit chat with a dealer this evening - he's not a Rolex AD but has one of the longest history in dealing with used & new grey Rolex for several decades. The premium price of the new Pepsi is apparently being offered at ...... RM80k ... :Startled:
Craziest premium I've ever heard ... short of the Nautilus.
-
I just saw this yesterday at a local dealer. Highlight is the 70 hours power reserve. Jubilee strap. Nice. Very nice. Buy at list? Spend xxx,xxx amount before you can get it. Grey market is going crazy over this watch... I was picking up something else and since they just received it they showed me the real thing (looking at online pictures, reading about it and actually touching is very different)...
-
Yay but so hard to source. No AD has stock of this.
-
They do, but will not be given to mere mortals .... ;D

Rolex just keeps playing the cartel thingy because they can and we just can't get enough can we?
-
Just curious... did the Batman sell for such a crazy premium when it first appeared?
Will the Pepsi settle closer to retail a few years from now?
-
Sorry but No and No ... ;D
-
So, Rolex has now joined the ranks of PP and AP in terms of pricing for a SS watch.
-
I think the RRP of the watches are pretty much acceptable, even for PP.
But the SPECULATED price, madness! Period
-
The thing is, the speculation is by Rolex themselves. Trickling supplies to artificially boost demand.
-
Exactly. Market manipulation of the highest order.
-
Well unfortunately after the initial, shock, horror, anger and disgust dies down, we'll just go ahead and pay Rolex whatever ransom they ask because we really want this watch don't we? I know I do. :o

Pay the dealers (grey or otherwise)
Not Rolex

Don't do it ... :Blue:
A bit more will get you a used white gold Pepsi ... much nicer IMHO
-
The current premium for 126710 BLRO is just insane. I am hoping that the price will be cool down in 1 or 2 years time.

The white gold is definitely great value now but the new one is a totally new watch with that new engine and super duper boost in power reserve, those slimmed down lugs and that jubilee, oh that jubilee!
I must resist, must resist.....
-
"The Force is strong in this one ..... "
;D
-
Too strong the force is with this one. A terrible disturbance I sense. Slowly but surely its pulling you in KY-Ren. Resistance is futile. In peril hangs our life's savings...
-
Hahaha ;D
Luckily I'm more drawn to vintages otherwise sure die too :Praying:

Nice sport watch with jubilee bracelet
-
Anyone know what is the going price in the secondary/grey market right now?
I started getting into watch way after the BLNR was released. Was it also impossible to find at the AD @ retail price for that model back then when it was first released?
-
High seventies to eighties locally. Nineties to over a hundred K on the internet.
-
I think it's about RM80k-100k when I saw that on chrono24. Does anyone know what's the retail price for this ?
-
Retail price??? Around 38-40k...

Thanks bro, it seems to be impossible to get =/

Hmmm over 100% premium.... its a nice watch no doubt but one would wonder if there is a bubble and the price would eventually tank. Then again never doubt rolex haha.

Well, now that the ceramic daytona and Batman are more easily found, did their prices tank? If they didn't then there's no reason this Pepsi would. But still, we can hope.

Yeah, I can see a lot of Batman up for grab but its still 7k-8k RM premium (far from the craziness of pepsi). I guess if price continues to increase, it means these batman are moving very fast.

I know a rolex dealer personally and she told me that , getting a batman is as hard as getting a hulk now

Yeah. I bought another watch from one of the local AD and I was asking if they can put me on the wait-list for BLNR...reluctantly said okay but tell me 7-8 years....lol. I was hoping the Pepsi would lower the demand or at least move a few people upfront to pepsi instead. Oh well, getting batman at retail is probably a dream.

Sorry to hear that bro, good luck to you =)

A certain watch dealer on youtube reports that Rolex has released more of the new Pepsis than what everyone had expected and now the profiteers who were trying to sell theirs at USD25K are having trouble offloading at USD18K.
Well, hope is alive.

100% premium :o
For the well healed, may as well add a few more grand for a daytona WG or a pre-owned complications PP/Lange.

I'll take a look at Tudor GMT and save myself a relatively big sum of cash.

I thought to check out the Tudor GMT at The Hour Glass @ Lot 10 on last Saturday but no stocks.

Tudor roadshow at Mid Valley, got one GMT in the display window, however, the watch is sold, price around 15k-ish.
Waiting list until next year, price will be increase after SST.

Yes, everyone is shopping for watches before the SST kicks in.

I finally picked up mine yesterday. Very happy with it.
It's different from the old Pepsis. Those were more toolish. This is definitely NOT a tool watch - but in true Rolex fashion, it's versatile enough to cover a wide range of use cases.
I have to say, I am occasionally tempted to flip this, given the crazy premiums these things go for, but I like it enough to keep it. (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180802/f5ef02e1c50001ed1ca55370c3b39ab4.jpg)

Congrats @vkalia. it is so nice :)
Thanks, bud. It was a LONG wait. Story with my last 3 purchases - 3 months for Sincere to source my Lange, 9 months to get my Blancpain Milspec and 4 months for this.
My next watch is going to be one I can just pay and collect. I am done with this stupid waiting.

Not sure if the jubilee bracelet suits me not

nice watch, but.....never within reach unless you pay the premium

nice watch, but.....never within reach unless you pay the premium
Or unless you buy another watch from them...
I manage to get myself into the "waiting list", only after I bought a watch from them (not gonna mention which AD)... prior to that, they didn't even want to take my details, and said that "there's no such waiting list"...
