The Audemars Piguet ROO Sincere "Tantalum" Limited Edition specially made for the 50th Year Anniversary of
Sincere Watches of Singapore
This is the light gray dial version which came out in 25/50 while the other 25/50 came out in dark gray dial.
What makes this timepiece extra special is the octagonal bezel made in Tantalum metal
Tantalum is a rare, hard, blue-gray, lustrous transition metal that is highly corrosion resistant even to nitro-hydrochloric acid
It is heavier than steel and has a high melting point of 3017 °C (boiling point 5458 °C) making it very difficult to fabricate
To date, only three watch brands has dared to produce a limited number of their watches in tantalum metal: Panerai, Hublot and Audemars Piguet
This rare piece has had some brief stints at the Antiquorum auction in New York on 7 Dec 2005
and Sotheby's (Hong Kong 2010)
